Anyway, the church is built partially on what remains of the Cistercian Abbey and it’s mighty impressive in scale, light quality and wall paintings of the time of Queen Anne.
Anyone who has an interest in history or who just wants a few moments of peace and quiet -- I would strongly recommend a stop by Dore Abbey!

Lovely views from this bridge, especially when sitting in the private pub garden of the Bridge Inn, Crickhowell. We picked a clear sunny day in November after walking along the River Usk.
If you can find a parking space at the top of the village a walk along the river bank on a sunny day is well worth the time.
