... guide working at the volcano gives you a brief 10 minute talk about the geology and history of Vesuvius and a few really interesting facts, then you can walk right round the edge of the crater on your own.
Impressive From the view to the sensation experienced at the mouth of the volcano makes you feel like you fit into hectic atmosphere created by nature and combined with the tourists.Visit and added bucket list.

Our wine and food tour included several course lunch paired with various local wines (sparkling, white, red and dessert) from the Vesuvius area...all cultivated from the enriched volcanic soil.
We were driven there and met by the very friendly Carmela who gave us a very informative tour of the lands, then we had a delicious 4 course lunch paired with 5 wine tastings with information on each wine.

It is well worth getting here early in the day as for us it was so quiet you could imagine the hustle and bustle of the villa in full roman swing... Be watchful for the nooks where there are some little gems that...
A grand ancient Roman villa used by Emperor Nero's wife, it was both destroyed and preserved by the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD.There were so many rooms full of amazing frescoes.

Fits well with the sites of Pompeii, Herculaneum and the nearby Roman villas which, although a little harder to access being off the beaten track, can also be visited.
Owned by Emperor Nero's wife Poppaea Sabina it was also buried in the Mount Vesuvius eruption.

Beautiful frescoes inside - almost complete in many places and retaining their vivid colours despite two millenia.
When visiting Pompeii don’t forget to leave the park by Villa dei Misteri, a small walk to this exit but certainly worthwhile

After the crowds of Pompeii (which is also incredible) Herculaneum gives so much more as it is well preserved, less busy and gives you a free, small guidebook that gives loads of information unlike Pompeii (unless...
Easy to find using our GPS, parking was just across the street and they offer baggage storage at the ticket office ( highly recommend this) The sights are amazing and so much great preservation can be found.

A truly amazing experience , one I am so glad we went to see, it has been on my bucket list for years.
We decided to do a day trip here from Naples rather than on route to Sorrento with the luggage.
