What travelers are saying
- Darlene ANewhall, CA3 contributionsThis was worth every penny! The views were amazing! You have to experience it because pictures don't do it any justice. The Tamarack trail was awesome! So much beauty!Written September 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LivinglifeinPAAllentown, PA893 contributionsThe color of the water in this state park is a perfect turquoise blue....we thought that we might be in the Caribbean again, but with the additional evergreens of the area.
Such a gorgeous area!!!!!!!
We highly recommend visiting this state park........the highway leading to it is an experience in itself!Written October 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Would recommend this tour to anyone interested in Tahoe and its history.Written August 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Annette OKansas City, MO42 contributionsThis historic site is well worth the time to explore. The story of the inhabitants is nicely displayed throughout the area and the grounds are well maintained with paths that run throughout the property and along the lake. The museum/house was closed the day we were there but it was still a highlight on our trip to South Tahoe.Written September 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jim MSonoma, CA93 contributionsPositives: Excellent ski runs; well groomed slopes; plenty of terrain; modern lifts; not too crowed on weekdays/non-holidays.
Negatives: The village is somewhat sterile. Not many decent walkable bars, restaurants for après ski. Truckee is good but requires a drive. The lift lines can be chaotic, especially for a single when they do not have a staff member trying to regulate the que. Aggressive behavior is rewarded when getting on the lifts when there is no staff to control.
Compared the Heavenly, it is easier to navigate the ski runs & it is less crowded. Heavenly has better views & better eating/drinking options walkable from the base.Written February 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We have been going to the Tahoe area for 50 years and this was our 1st time to Donner Lake. Don't wait as long as us-this place is beautiful. So quiet in early mornings for fishing, or kayaking (rentals there) or swimming. Access to the Lake is so easy and picnic tables for a day long experience. And don't miss the free museum with well presented displays about the history of the area up to the modern day. The Park Rangers are available to answer questions, and to provide a children's scavenger game. A fun way to learn in a gorgeous natural setting.Written August 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - leahavas20 contributionsWorth the hike, this is a beautiful waterfall. Parking around the trail is very difficult. Take lots of water as the trail isn’t so easy climbing back up.Written June 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Dreamer3105260488711 contributionsEmerald Bay is a not to be missed view. Words can’t describe the beauty. Very fortunate on a Wednesday around 1030am pulled in with parking available!Written August 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ZetrilSkiptvet Municipality, Norway90 contributionsPope Beach is a fantastic family-friendly destination! The shallow, sandy beach is perfect for little ones to play in. The water is crystal clear and calm, making it safe for swimming. The parking fee is reasonable at $10 per day (as of August 2024). We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this beach!Written September 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - safetyassPort Neches, TX187 contributionsTrails and lifts to trails are poorly, marked. Easy to get in trouble. The mountain is so spread out it is a chore. Lots of flats, even on the blues. Had we not fought to get decent older skis after paying for demo skis, we would have had an only decent time. Ski rental management does not allow them to provide reasonable service. The rental fleet of skis and boots is beat up. Demo skis are terrible, not edged or waxed. Ski vallet and service in rental shop, other than that is superb.Written February 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 63impalaStoneham, MA1,545 contributionsEagle falls has 2 falls, the upper and lower and it is in your best interest to see both of them. You can continue on up to the lake but it is going to be a good hike to get there and you will need a free permit day pass to do it. You do not need a pass just to see the falls. It is a short hike to the upper falls and well worth your time. Parking is going to be the biggest obstacle so plan accordingly.Written October 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Catherine B7 contributionsBig surprise! Mama bear with cubs enjoying a fresh Kokanee Salmon lunch. We found mama bear first and the two cubs trickled in. This image was taken where the boardwalk curves around at the open marshlands. Just beautiful!
