Step inside and you'll be greeted by the beautiful sanctuary, ornately decorated in hues of blue and gold, red, purple and silver, with exquisite wood carvings, gilded and painted, depicting Biblical scenes.
My wife and I appreciate the opportunity to worship at the Basilica during our visit to Montreal...the basilica is a landmark and historical treasure and uniquely beautiful.

Having covered most of the major points of interest during out August 2013 visit, we sought out a few new sites including this wonderful museum built right on the birthplace of the city of Montreal.
The exhibition moves in chronological order and unearths, literally, the foundations of the original city, which you can see, and it's aqueduct system which you actually can walk through.

Brilliantly located at the Old Port, it's perfect for a 2 to 3 hour visit whilst strolling around the old quarter of town.
My daughter enjoyed the hands-on activities where she learned about the human body and the process of evolution.

We had so much fun seeing the different areas of the Canal system and its environments. We hired the bikes around the old port and spent the whole day riding along the waters cycling path.
I'd recommend packing a picnic and stopping off at one of the many picnic tables along the way.
