We spent a couple of hours touring this incredible castle in Toronto. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We only had a few hours, so they told us which highlights to hit. Per their tips, we skipped the audio guide and this allowed us to see everything on our own. The history of the castle is neat, and a lot of the furnishings are original. Loved the secret tunnels!

First of all, this is not a "castle". Someone decided to attract travellers. This is just a big house without any walls and towers. Also this is not Versallis, but Canada is not France. LOL. We liked this place, because they created very good atmosphere of XIX century. A guide Natali had old-fashion dressing. It was so amazing. :-) When I visit historical sites,I always have interest to ordinary things, not fancy sides.I mean that I want to know how people lived in that period.I want to see washrooms, bathrooms, rooms of housekeepers, laundry, kitchen for cooking, storages etc. We could see this side of daily life in XIX century. I am sure that children cannot value this house. I'd recommend to read history and have imagination about that period, before visiting this site.

We were too early to go inside but the grounds are great and very picturesque building with lots of history. It is a Victorian mansion built in 1877. The Livingston Family from Scotland lived here for 3 generations. It is now a Community Museum.
