- FaithfultravelerHalifax, Canada3,418 contributionsGreat place to do most, if not all, of your Christmas shopping. After shopping at all the boutique stores, we usually finish at Costco and Walmart. Then dinner at one of the several good restaurants in the area.Written December 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - wloo_andrewWaterloo, Canada881 contributionsBeautiful park with a big network of trails. Was quite busy on a gorgeous fall Saturday but was able to easily find parking. Lots of families enjoying the views and the trails. Plaques along the trails give you the history of the Shubenacadie canal. Seven separate federal agencies work from there so you can see cutting edge technology as well as pick up and get to know some pretty odd creepy-crawlies. Tour large oceanographic ship and drive remote controlled vehicles. Have some sea-food chowder and talk to scientists about their work. Our children, aged 4 and 7, were able to pet starfish, sea cucumbers and crabs and learn about the wonderful critters the reside beneath the depths. The staff were kind and educational. - David C3 contributionsWe took one of the two ferries from Halifax to Dartmouth, walked the trail, and then took the other ferry back to Dartmouth. A very pleasant walk with a numerous good views of Halifax across the harbor. I would have given it a five star review, if there wasn't for a small detour we encountered. The water company was doing some serious work.Written October 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
