We were able to get an electric wheelchair for my husband who walks with a cane. I couldn’t have pushed him up the all the ramps. These ramps are part of the sense of being on a journey of discovery. The exhibits are auditory, visual and all the videos we watched were also in sign language. The message of this museum is so clear. We all must continue to strive for understanding and acceptance of each other. The highlight for me was the Witness Blanket exhibit(read the words on the back of the door). The part Canada (and other countries too) had in denying Jews entry to Canada during the era of Nazi Germany was hard to accept but part of our heritage. So many well described aspects of human rights and our human struggles to accept each other. History of Winnipeg with recreations of life scenes from past. Good for children and adults. Beautiful ship display of Nunsuch in large gallery. You will find groups of students but facility large enough for all. Would spend 2-3 hours. Good location in downtown area of Winnipeg. He obviously likes his job and has fun doing it. Not quite as big as I thought it would be, but still a nice way to kill some time, especially on cold or rainy days. - Jordan H48 contributionsHad an awesome morning hiking the boardwalk trails and watching birds from the blind. The bison were far off and hard to see well but the trail to get to them was relaxing. The interpretive center is worth a quick glance. Large gallery on top floor with sculpture, carvings. Beautiful variety worth the visit. Nice lunch bar in gallery.
