What travelers are saying
- Clare G2 contributionsWe felt fortunate to take this trip by car after the terrible wildfires in Jasper , but travelled instead from Lake Louise ……it’s breathtaking scenery . We rearranged the Icefields Parkway the day before ( after a change in our itinerary because of the sad situation in Jasper ) , so glad we did it’s a trip of a life time . Jez our driver /guide was knowledgeable & humorous , which was the perfect balance . The whole adventure was very well organised.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the trip.Written September 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In my opinion, this is one of those "don't miss" places in Alberta.
However, we were there before the horrible fires. I don't know what it looks like now. But even if many of the trees were burned, the falls and mountains behind are spectacular. Again, I emphasize that I visited before the summer 2024 fire - but I still strongly recommend coming here.
The train is worth taking - recommend at least an hour.Written September 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Can be slippery but most ages can walk the paths, just don’t wear loose or shoes with no gripWritten July 20, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jason H2 contributionsA great experience, the skytram gets you to near the summit and the coffee shop/gift shop. You then need to walk the rest which a reasonably steep incline. When you get to the top, what a fantastic view!!!Written July 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - phil cPocklington, UK13 contributionsReally interesting half day, well worth the money. Loads of interesting facts, friendly guides, well run and easy to find. - DAROHATHCairns, Australia1,286 contributionsDefinitely worth a short detour out of Jasper. An hour or so was enough, but a lovely walk out to the island over the bridge. There are some chairs scattered around and it was so quiet in March that we had the island to ourselves. - Jill SPorterville, CA31 contributionsThis was a fun time. We opted for only doing the Planetarium as the night sky stays light so late you’d need to go later in the evening to use the telescope and that didn’t work with our schedule. Nicole was wonderful. She went above and beyond in explaining everything and was as sweet as can be. She made our experience quite memorable.Written June 14, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Janet M13 contributionsI was at Marmot Basin on Friday skiing mid mountain. Love Marmot for the runs and the warm friendly staff and patrons. That is until I ran into Joey, a ski instructor with snow school on Basin run. His customer service was appalling. Joey was instructing a group of about 10 people and did not care that he was rude to people outside his group. I would not recommend taking lessons from Joey. The ski hill is lovely and the majority of staff are great, friendly, personable and wonderful to deal with.Written January 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - platypus150Melbourne, Australia32,398 contributionsWhile the road is mostly very flat and well made, I did see two major accidents along the way. September was dry and the road smooth. Along the way there are many scenic places to stop, with mountain views, waterfalls, lakes. Food stops are not cheap, so it is better to stock up in Jasper or Banff.Written September 19, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You are encouraged to have a drink at the bar and chat to the actors before the show begins. They are extremely welcoming and love to chat to their audience.
The show is hilarious and you recognise and are familiar with each sketch as you’ve been doing exactly the same things throughout your time in Jasper.

It was raining. I changed into the rain pants that Sarah had lent me the day before. And Christian gave me hiking gaiters for the snow. And hiking poles. We headed down Highway 16 to Maligne Lake Road. We stopped to view an eagle perched just outside its nest. Then, on to Maligne Lake. On the way, Christian noticed a two-year-old bear and a silver fox. We also saw a mother bear with two cubs from the parking lot. And we met the Park Warden--Heidi! The hike on the Bald Hills Loop was exhilarating. We hiked through light snow up to where the snow from last winter had lingered--about a foot deep. We did not go all the way to the summit. Christian came equipped with waterproof foam sit pads. He tossed them down on the snow for lunch--with hot tea. I brought the maple cookies! On our way down, Christian and I made a snow-entity! After the hike, Christian took the time to show me Maligne Lake where he used to work as a guide on the boats. Then, we had a leisurely drive back to Jasper--and more coffee!! Merci splendidement Christian! AnnAWritten July 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
