We stopped here regularly what a lovely place in Dovedale climb up Thorpe Cloud and feel on top of the world walk across the famous stepping stones a lovely place to walk picnic or just unwind we love it.
From the car park at Dovedale take the right turn over the bridge and follow the signs to the top ..stunning views ..descend over the other side and end up at the stepping stones ..about 45 mins in all..take maps...

The church was open so we could have a look around, it was lovely and full of character, lots of history to read about on the displays, very peaceful and tranquil
Set in the ilam park grounds the church has a lovely back drop for those keen on photography.
