Our excellent guide, Geraldine, took us on a brief tour of the museum and its fascinating artifacts and articles, then led us below to relate the history and work of the people at the mines on Bell Island.
Just knowing the hardship these miners went through was heartbreaking, but hearing the personal stories that Brian shared as both his grandfather and great grandfather worked these exact mines put a sense of being...
We love everything about this Art Gallery - a great selection of art, beautiful displays, and wonderful staff who take to time to talk to us about the art, lighting, and artists who create the art.
Marie Eve is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable representative of her gallery, enthusiastically sharing her expertise of each art piece and the backgrounds of the artists.
Had an amazing time there; Mr Gravel was an excellent host whose passion for history is prevalent in every last detail that's gone into this place!
Fantastic, personalized guided tour of this extensive collection of firearms of all kinds.

Erabliere Boily

Sainte-Famille
The woman who runs the place walked out right away, showed us where to park, and immediately welcomed us to the shack and gave us a full tour of their maple forest and syrup production facility.
Of course there are thousands of other places where you can buy the "sweet liquid gold" but I doubt you'll get such an informative and interesting tour with it like we got here.
Do take the time to visit; the owners have created a wonderfully exciting and fun miniature world - did I mention, this community even has a nudist beach!
There were many scenes of places in Europe, like towns, lakes, even flying birds, thunderstorms, many different trains both passenger and commercial.
The North is prominently on display in various forms: wall art, sculpture, jewelry, pottery.... all worthy of a second, third look, and even permanent gazing in the perfect spot in your home.

Are you looking for a fun, educational, informative, and fascinating tour that explains the science, cultivation, therapeutic properties, recreational usage, and origins of cannabis?
The museum is great for many reasons: the local history; variety of artifacts and things to look at and see; on-site activities and adventures for ages 2-200, and; it is a pathway museum, where everyone follows th...
The Museum of Natural History in NYC is a wonderful place -- one of our absolute favorites -- but for dinosaurs and paleontology, the Royal Tyrrell Museum goes well beyond it.

... Newfoundland Insectarium yesterday on our travels and we were very pleased with the knowledgeable, informative staff, wide array of live and preserved insects and the BUTTERFLY GARDEN (the highlight for myself!).
The exhibits, from the amazing butterfly collection, the butterfly garden, the live specimen eg walking sticks, ghost mantis, etc are a delight to see.
... surprised as it gave us many different perspectives from many different people with different areas of expertise (blacksmith, homemakers, boat builders, fishers) all of whom know the craft of that time.
The welcome center includes a gift shop & cafe (seafood chowder to die for, sweets like strawberry shortcake, blueberry cheesecake..).

The era of steamship travel across the lakes comes to life here, and we were lucky enough to choose a quiet time and had the tour all to ourselves, with one of the highly knowledgeable guides.

Haida Heritage Centre at Kay Llnagaay

Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands)
We spent 9 days in Haida Gwaii - on our second day we went to visit the Haida Heritage and spent a great many hours enjoying the well laid out exhibits and found it to be very educational.
We took the 11:00 am morning tour of the 6 totem poles, and the mockup of a Haida village, then had a delicious lunch at Kay's (on the premises), and then wandered around the museum for the whole afternoon.
The Canadian War Museum is spectacular - the best I have toured (and that includes the Imperial War Museum in London and the WWI and WWII museums in France, Belgium and Italy).
It is a large museum but each area takes you through intimate passageways where the large selection of artifacts are presented with a chronological sense of each theatre of war Canadians have participated in.

Its collection is reminiscent of comparable collections at the Museum of Anthropology at UBC, the "Kay" Museum in Skidegate (Haida Gwaii) and the Audain Art Museum in Whistler.
He treated us with a perfect mix of history, anecdotes and a sprinkle of science that made it an amazing learning opportunity as well as a real connection to the history and achievement of Canadian aviation.
Museum staff and volunteers are friendly and informative and the gift shop has some really neat and unusual gifts but the star of the show is the planes themselves - a unique collection of warbirds (mostly WWII) f...
The added bonus was the aerospace museum on site, which we took a vintage car ride to as it's about a 5 minute walk away the kids loved riding in the car.
There are a few vehicles the kids can sit in, a play House with toys for young kids, a craft space and some hands-on experiments in the Aviation Museum.

Happen to stumble on this fantastic expo today with my mom, it was fantastic so many amazing barbies to see, brought back childhood memories, will definitely go back, the wizard of oz theme was the best
You cannot help but smile and laugh and turn into a little kid as you view the many wonderful Barbies of different fashion designers, eras, races, celebrities ...every single moment was a pleasure!
The only negative is Caraquet is a little out of the way, but if you're on the Acadian Peninsula, the Historical Village is a great way to learn about Acadian culture.
We rode the horse drawn wagon in the 18th - 19th centuries area and the electric transport in the 20th century section.

... the lives of coal miners and their families, from decades past, through a variety of exhibits, including an underground mine where your tour guides are retired miners with lots of enthralling stories to share.
The museum provided vivid picture of the impact of the coal industry on life in Cape Breton, with great insights into labour politics, economics, and - most importantly - the life of the miners and their families.
Although focused on the contributions of Canadian squadrons in the Bomber Command during the Second World War, the museum provides a comprehensive story of Canada's military aviation.
The many detailed exhibits of Bomber Command appeal to all ages with several "hands on" displays for people to sit in the cockpit of a Lancaster etc, but also for true history buffs who can read many accounts of t...
