- Dorothy DAsheville, NC6 contributionsThis was our second visit to San Miguel de Allende and Fabrica Aurora. Both are amazing places. The art and town are so diverse. Very cosmopolitan for a small city. I would highly recommend the experience!Written March 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PATGilbertsville, PA1 contributionThis is the place for the finest representation of quality Mexican folk art. Pieces from many regions of Mexico represent indigenous peoples industrious talents are passed down from centuries ( in many cases) and offer a high level refinement. The selection is vast and the prices are extremely fair. Pottery, textiles, metalworking and sculpture are well represented as well as “vintage” folk art.
Purchases help in providing these indigenous remote artists a way to exist while carrying on with their craft. Make sure to visit if you are seaking a better than average selection of art.Written January 31, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Betsy A1 contributionAbsract Painting 2- Day Workshop -- really enjoyed learning a creative way to add abstract elements to my personal photos. Jane is a very thorough, organized and enthusiastic instructor. Her resource list was excellent and she followed up with a a clear summary of the "how-to" steps she demonstrated. That was a helpful reminder of key learnings from a very busy class. Definitely recommend her classes!Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- David E16 contributionsThey had a lot of of nice things. About a third of it is food, but we didn’t go into that section. The rest of it souvenirs and neat things buy. You’ll probably get a better deal on most things here than in the Centro, although they didn’t deal on the prices. They were very friendly and accommodating. The place is larger than it looks.Written March 20, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Mick2 contributionsNepantla Gallery, owned and operated by artist Isis Rodriquez, is one of a kind gallerty, located in the Independencia neighborhood of San Miguel de Allende, about a 20-minute walk from the Centro. Isis is a gifted teacher and artist. I attended her latest show, which is inspired by her exploration of "modern love," through her use of tech platforms such as Tinder, and online dating. Her experiences as a 55-year old woman, led her to create new male and female archetypes, for which she is well known. My two favorite pieces in her new show were "Mexican Viagra" and "Nurse Purse" both visually potent examples of Isis' work. The still life of flowers from this series was also visually arresting. If you are in San Miguel and want to experience a highly personal art, visit Isis' gallery. She is very friendly and welcoming.Written March 8, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
