As waterfalls go, it is not the most dramatic. However, it is bang in the middle of the town and the sound of the rush of the water is lovely to consume. The purity of the air in Norway is super and even more so at the edge of the waterfall. The is a climable rock on the right side of the waterfall as you look at it and you can take fab photos or touch the water when sitting on the rock.

The beauty of this place cannot be captured in a photo, it is a must see.

On entering the building it's not clear where you should buy the tickets. It's from the person that looks like they're running the cafe. The cost is 95NKR pp. There is a side door that it looked to me as though people were walking in without paying or even realising that they had to. The wooden carvings are amazing - almost life size and highly detailed. The story of Peer Gynt was playing on audio in English. The carver was apparently a local farmer who did an apprenticeship with a local carver, then came back and ran the farm and did the carvings in his spare time. He died suddenly in 2010 but some of the locals in the carvings are still alive. It's worth a look.

The church is in an lovely location, by the waterfall and overlooking the fjord. A small grayeyard surrounds the church with some interesting headstones on the right as you enter.
The church was locked when we arrived but shortly after a man came and opened it up. Inside the white walls contrast with the grey blue pews. A large painting hangs at the back of the altar.

We did 9500m of vertical ascent and 110km of distance on skitouring during 9 days in the Sunnmøre alps. What more can I say that it was really perfect, the incredible routes with awesome views on the fyords. Thank a lot to our local guide Sindre Våge and Jollygoodtimes boat ! This is an incredible skier, he also has a lot of knowledge of the avalanche risks in the region and it was so good to trust on him during all the trip.

We recently visited Hellesylt on Iona, I booked this RIB adventure online which was very easy to do and excellent value for money! Our guide lived locally and it was fascinating to listen to his stories, the RIB ride was fantastic and we got up close to many amazing waterfalls. I would definitely recommend booking this trip, you won’t be disappointed! You need to meet at the white building where the ferries go from, it’s over the bridge, we asked and were told meet outside the ship which is where you meet if you have booked with P&O. Get there at least 15 mins before as you need to change into a suit.
