This is one of the best tours I have ever experienced. The organization, communication, tour guide (Dafni), and the attraction itself were all top notch. When I saw the length of the tour, I was unsure if I wanted to dedicate literally a whole day to this but while it’s a drive to get to this indescribable place, it’s definitely worth the time and money. Dafni made sure we were comfortable during the entire trip and made sure we knew what the next steps were along the way and how to be prepared. Somehow the trip got better and better from the buffet breakfast, to the pools, to the (optional) zip line (highly recommend), to the lunch by the river (great food), to the unique and awe-inspiring caves. She was bilingual which made it easier for me as a foreigner and explained everything in Spanish and English. Thanks for an unforgettable experience Dafni! I won’t stop talking about this one for a while!

The tour was well-organized. We were picked up on time at our hotel. The balloon ride during sunrise was surreal! There were balloons all around and we flew so close to the pyramids. All in all a must do experience!

Grutas are absolutely stunning. I recommend going the day before and sending the night. Our guide didn't speak much English but was very helpful. Only 3 people in the car so it felt almost like a private tour 😉

Great tour ! The two guides were very helpful and insightful of the attractions . This is definitely more of an express version of a tour, which we booked. So if you’re into that and seeing the site rather quickly . Than this is the tour for you

A few passengers got motion sickness, so I recommend Dramamine before the tour . But I personally didn’t have an issue

I went on the Trekking Through the Volcanoes tour with Mexico Travesias guide Alberto and 4 other trekkers this Sunday (10/29/23). The tour was well organized from the meet-up, with good explanations about what was going to happen, and realistic expectations about the trip. This included an honest warning that traffic would likely be extra heavy due to the F1 race (which it was!). We made one stop on the way to the volcanoes for restrooms and to buy breakfast/snacks, if desired. We were provided with backpacks with a bottle of water, bottle of Gatorade, sandwich, apple and a couple of other snacks. We were also given trekking poles. It was cold at the beginning of the dat, so I was glad I brought a fleece and a rain jacket, but I did end up warming up and taking them off after 30-45 minutes. I am a moderate runner who regularly exercises at least 3 times per week (at sea level), and in the altitude, I did find it difficult to catch my breath after going uphill for just a few steps. Alberto did a great job giving us many breaks, checking on us frequently, and monitoring us for signs of altitude sickness. I think we spent about 5 hours hiking, although I am not exactly sure, since I was paying more attention to the beautiful views. I reapplied sunscreen twice, but should have done even more frequently, as I still got slightly sunburnt! After the hike, we stopped at an outdoor roadside restaurant to eat tacos and quesadillas, which were included in the price of our day. The drive home took over 2 hours due to the extra F1 race traffic, but it was ok since I had been warned! The day was totally worth it! I would recommend this trip to anyone who wants to get out of the city and see the volcanoes but has not trained beforehand or does not want to hike at a grueling pace!

We really had a lot of fun on this excursion. The ranch and area in the mountains where you ride is beautiful. Our family was total beginners and they taught us very well how to control the horses. Horses were basically chill and easy to ride. Yuni and his dad were the hosts and they are very friendly and helpful!

The only slight downside is the provided lunch wasn't first-class. It was still pretty good but I was expecting a little better for the expensive price of the excursion.
This is a great day overall and I highly recommend it!

This is not an easy hike but you can do it. I'm borderline hypertensive so I was a bit worried. When you get to the first level you will want to give up. The guides are good and will tell you to go on; just take a breath and go on; you will make it. It is the thin air that will get your heart pumping. It is important not to do this a day or two after arriving in Mexico. The altitude takes some adjustment. Do this like day 3 and after while in Mexico City. Like a previous reviewer said, the guides could do more on the long drive and point out more flora and fauna. Once you are there, they will take you up a bit in the vehicle and then the hike starts. It is important indeed to wear comfortable clothes/shoes. I wear a nice pair of all terrain sneakers. I don't think hiking shoes are an absolute must. Note as well that there are no bathroom facilities, so you will have to go the nature way. You will take a couple rest stop on the way up to adjust your breathing. Once at the top, awesome view. Your hike down is much easier.

Long drive, private vehicle, to get to the monarch colony but WORTH IT!! Once you get there, it's a somewhat difficult hike. I did find, as I do alot of walking. Still....caution to anyone thinking about it; it's challenging. On good thing; there's no rush. You can stop at anytime and just catch your breath or just watch the butterflies and birds.
