In terms of size, this museum is more equivalent to an exhibit in a larger museum - it's not a huge stand-alone experience and I think it's important to keep that in mind. But, it is very informative about the process and history of the manufacture of tequila and mezcal and includes a free tasting of each at the end! I believe you can pay more for a guide and a larger tasting, but we were there only about an hour before close and I don't think we had that option at that time. AND, this museum is open on Monday when other museums in the city are all closed. For us, this made it the perfect choice for Monday (after a morning visit to Teotihuacan and an afternoon by the pool). From what guides on other tours said, it sounds like the vibrant Plaza Garibaldi experience has not totally recovered from the start of the pandemic. But we arrived in the early evening, had some birds pick out our fortunes in the square, had dinner at Salón Tenampa and paid for a mariachi song, then went to the museum and enjoyed our drink tasting. With perfect timing we wrapped up as the museum was closing; as of this writing this is not an area to linger in after that.

My wife and I tried El Grifo on a recommendation from a colleague and we are glad we gave it a try. One of the best little spots for pizza in Mexico City we have tried. I had the Henri pizza and my wife had a Pepperoni pizza as well as a few of their craft beers from a very large selection. I would also recommend the papas al horno appetizer. This will definitely be a place we frequent often when we want pizza and a drink.

I’ve been coming to Mexico City once a year for the last 20 + years . One of my main stops has always been El Jorongo bar here at the Sheraton Maria Isabel. If you want to listen to good mariachi music, I highly recommend it. They also Play requests. They also have a good d-jay that plays great music between sets. Ask to sit in Brandon’s section. He’s a great waiter as well as Victor and Facio.

The view and the bar are fantastic, well worth going up to see and have a drink. Prices are okay, worth it for the view. It was odd getting in, you had to ask the desk of the hostel and then they wanted to store my small backpack? Little weird, but no big deal. Could be marked better. But still, recommend going to enjoy the patio and view.

Great jazz club, intimate, cool vibe, modest cover fee, good sound. However, the wait was far too long. If you make a reservation you have to be there by 9:30, but the music didn't start until 11. My understanding is that this is the typical start time. Obviously they want you to drink or eat or both while waiting, but imo the wait is excessive.

Foreigners are not welcome here. They do a well known scam, you will ask for something from the menu, enjoy your night, and then at the end, they will try to charge you more for the items you asked for. for example if you order a bottle of tequila at $1450 pesos, they will bring you a bottle that costs $2500. Although this is their mistake you will be left on the hook to pay and they will intimidate you and surround you with 3-4 large servers until you pay.

Unfortunately this happens to many foreigners and you are better off not going. I had heard of this happening before I went, but I thought "this wont happen to me". But sure enough it did.

It is a shame, because otherwise it is a great place, but it is simply not worth the risk if you don't want to be victim of a scam or find yourself in an uncomfortable and intimidating situation.

Great bar, loved the margaritas- super tasty. Didn’t try the food but great place to hang with friends. Great view on the fourth floor. Friendly and attentive service. We will be back.

Already a little buzzed from the Jazz club, we decided to go for some Mezcal.

This place is located on a large avenue, open space with long tables. Seem to be popular with locals. Their prices range from $100 to $400 pesos.

It all got a bit blurry but it I think we had a good time based on the photos from the night! I can only post a few due to said reasons.

On our way to our hotel after being dropped off at the Zocalo from a full day of a tour we happened by Pata Negra. Thinking a drink was in order the four of us ventured in and sat at the bar. We each ordered and were very entertained by Peter who showed good flair and skill in preparing our drinks. We intended to have a cocktail and head 'home' but each of us ordered another to watch a fun, quality bartender do his thing.
Being close to our hotel we returned the following day only to find Peter was not behind the bar. We each had a beer and left. Good drinks at a good price but better times to be had if your bartender is Peter.

Recommended to go with friends and have a good time. Good music and food and beverages are also good.
Can be very crowded on weekend ights so you may need to wait for a while, specially if going with a large group of people, but it's worth the wait.

"La Perla' is a drag revue with multiple shows several nights of the week. The bar has bouncers which check your bags, and confiscate any open containers of water. Entering, you are sat at tables around a small circular stage area in the center of the room. Friendly waiters take your order. The night I went with my partner, the crowd was entirely straight couples and groups of friends. Everyone enjoyed the show heartily, singing along with the performers. The ladies have back-up dancers in little tuxedos and elaborate outfits. During the break between the two shows there was dancing to pop music. Most of the audience seemed to get up to participate and really enjoyed it. I felt welcome and thought the show was great. Recommended to check out!

A hidden underground speakeasy with no sign outside (just look out for the small group gathered outside to know which building). Friendly bouncer and staff, helps if you speak Spanish. The cocktails are like none I've tasted before, often smoky and in funky glasses (be warned they may be tiny or huge!). Great ambient music, cool atmosphere - feels very much like a trendy bar in London or Berlin. Cocktails are 200-250 pesos each. Would recommend!

Like some of the other reviewers here, the doorman/busboy tried to tell my husband and I that they were too full for us, and there wasn't any space, even though we made a reservation. Then they tried to take us to the downstairs bar. Since I read the reviews, I told them that if we didn't get into the upstairs bar, we would leave to go to another bar. After that, they let us in and it was 25% full. Drinks were very good, but this left a bad taste in my mouth.

I went here twice a couple of weeks ago. The pulque costs 100 Pesos and tastes okay. The first time I was there, I had the Nuez flavour and the second time I had the strawberry one.
The doorman has had his eyeballs tattooed black, so be ready to be slightly unnerved by this. Why would anyone do that?
