The captain stopped so we could enjoy whale watching. The food and drinks were amazing.
The snorkelling was disappointing as it was murky and we couldn’t really see anything. Not the fault of the company though; can’t control nature. After lunch we were supposed to have time to kayak. I will say to be prepared for 1-2 miles of paddle boarding (which my friends and I were not). It was a bit more active than we expected. But, the instructors were very accommodating and helped a lot! It was still a fun time. The water for snorkeling was a bit murky, but I still saw lots of fish. This is unrelated to the instructor, but make sure to wear bug spray, as there are sand fleas in the water! Would overall book again! - Rob W4 contributionsA great overall day. I enjoyed the scenic 45 minute boat ride to and from Yolapa, together with a modest breakfast and open bar on the boat. The staff were friendly and very prompt. The kayak and snorkelling portion was definitely over rated as they only allowed about 15 minutes for that. Yolapa itself was very scenic. Travelers had their choice of exploring “old town” Yolapa or just sitting on the beach for 3 hours. The main meal was served at the beach club bar and was basic but good. - Kiki K1 contributionWe loved our experience paddle boarding! We are a family of three who had never gone ocean paddle boarding before. We all got something different out of it. We went on the ‘off season’ so it was only us on the tour, but we really appreciated how the morning was adjusted to our speed and varied abilities. We appreciated the history lesson of Puerto Vallarta along the way. We saw fish and a turtle. But mostly we got comfortable standing and maneuvering on the board. - our3_dimpleswisconsin62 contributionsLuis and this excursion were a peer thrill. Learning about the Sea Lions and playing with them started us off. The Thriller Boat and Parasailing were our favorites. Follow that up with the ISLAND Ziplineing and the Water slide were the best. Wish we had the choice between the Banana Boat and Spinner seemed to get what the groups before chose for you. If the Banana Boat push for less people you can get hurt the more there is. The Climb was awkward but fun if your lanky. Then all followed by open bar and great food! Try the Steak and Gouda Sammie and Chips and Gauc and Pico outta this world! We loved all the Margaritas flavors fresh as can be. - skisurf_113 contributionsEduardo was very accommodating as our group was small with only three people. Diego, our guide and biologist was very funny and friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve done swimming with wild dolphin tour before with another company, and it was good, but the Dolphins weren’t very interested in staying with us. This may be because we chased them in our boat and tried to head them off and jump in the water in their path. However, Eduardo has two paddle boards so we were able to stop get on the boards and the dolphins were much more interested in coming near us and swimming around us and it really was the experience of a lifetime! I will say paddle boarding in the ocean with the waves isn’t easy for the average person, you need to have good balance to stay on those boards! They also have another tow-behind the boat tool you can hang onto that we did not try out as we were having so much success with the dolphins around the paddle boards! But it would be a good option if you can’t stay on the board. Couldn’t ask for a better instructor. Edson was with me at all times in the water, and I felt really safe learning how to surf and manage big waves.
Would highly recommend Edson as a surf instructor. Sayulita is a vibrant town with a ton of interesting restaurants and narrow roads. If you are driving, parking is tough to find and it appears most people must have walked in and out. The beach is full of fishing boats and surf boards, making it not only a surf beach but also a working beach area. It was later in the day and no one was surfing, but I am sure the mornings are fun to watch the action in the water if you are like me and don't surf.
