What travelers are saying
- Vanessa V2 contributions6 of my friends will be attending the Baja Beach fest near Papas and Beer in August and we’re concerned with the drive from Rosarito back to Las Gaviotas at night. The festival ends at 12:30 am and the drive is approximately 20 minutes. Should we take highway 1D and pass through the tolls? Or drive back using highway 1? Unfortunately we couldn’t find any available rooms near papas and beer and want to avoid staying in Tijuana.Written April 28, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RebeccaSan Diego, CA38 contributionsThis hike is a difficult hike. I researched online prior to coming here and it was listed as easy/moderate 2.8 mile hike. The terrain is steep and rocky; over 1100 feet climb. Not a beginner hike. One lady needed to be rescued on a quad. Bring lots of water, sunscreen & bug spray.
The trail head is very nice with parking and nice bathrooms. Their is a charge to park and use the bathroom. Don’t forget your pesos.Written June 13, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - 1EverDLos Angeles, CA12 contributionsMy friend and I were staying at the Rosarito Beach Hotel and stumbled upon La Vid. We did the wine tasting and appetizers (cheeses, sausages, etc) for 2. So reasonable, intimate and informative regarding wines from Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico. - Douglas WEnsenada, Mexico215 contributionsWhile waiting for a meeting with clients I wandered into the Baja Gallery and was pleasantly greeted by yhe staff and strolled thru the gallery. They have a nice selection from various artists and styles at moderate prices. Although I did not see something that I had to have it was an enjoyable 30 minute visit. I Will visit again in the near future when I have more time>Written April 27, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Doro BCorona del Mar, CA3 contributionsWhen Ray and his lovely wife passed us on a sandy road in the Guadeloupe Valley, he knew we were lost and needed a ride. So they stopped and offered us a ride which we gladly accepted. It was such a special experience: the setting of the winery (Solar Fortun) is peaceful and gorgeous, the wine tasting was generous and the company was delightful. Thank you Ray for an experience we’ll never forget!

Long rough road once you leave main hwy, made it in my Prius.
Horses, pigs, goats, pony, are all very well cared for.
Pens are all very clean.
The nice lady Jael who lives there have us a tour. She is very sweet and sincere. Told us the story of some of the horses. It was very interesting.
Only met two dogs. An old black dog and a young white pup.
The older dog was a rescue from repeated breeding. She is living our the rest of her life in a peaceful surroundings thanks to the ranch life.
Fell in love with the beautiful Pinto Stallion, with the long mane and blue eyes. Also loved Flicka. They were all so funny and some were so bossy. They all have personalities for sure.
Hope to come back and do the overnight ride to the Hacienda.
I brought carrots and apples, big box of dog biscuits for the kiddos. I live in San Diego and it was really easy to just walk across the border and be picked up on the TJ side. Jesse was our driver both times and he was awesome! He picked beautiful wineries with delicious wines and amazing lunch spots. He's also very knowledgeable about the area and gives you a little tour on the way to Valle de Guadalupe. The owner Randy was very communicative and made it easy to plan our trip. Would 11/10 recommend and can't wait to go again!Written May 24, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- cmur16Ohio18 contributionsI was in town during off season just to explore. and let me tell you I can't wait to see what this place looks like during the peak summer months! There was so much space to dance and just hang out with friends. This was more my scene in the quiet! I decided to splurge on Puerto Nuevo-style lobster even though we would eat it again the next day, it was delicious. I even got to pick out the lobster. The guys on staff worked their tails off to make sure we got fast service. The views to the beach are also gorgeous! A fun place to check out!Written February 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

We had a 2 year old with us and Victor was really careful and made sure that safety came first. To top it off, he even took great pictures and videos of us. He was so nice! Would highly recommend going on the quad tour with Victor. You won’t be disappointed.Written January 11, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
