What travelers are saying
- Ugo CReykjavik, Iceland758 contributions-The good: Beach is amazing and rightfully considered one of the most beautiful beaches in Mexico. There are palapas to leave your things and take some shade (believe me, you'll need it). The place is so photo-ready and the water is calm.
-The bad: There's limited admittance, and you can only stay for a few hours (they allow to batches of people to come in, so they take you out to allow for the other group) so you have to be there real early in order to have a spot. The water is very shallow, so you'll have to either lay all day, or walk about half a mile to get to an above-waist depth.
Overall well-worth the visit. Just bring plenty of sunscreen and hats, caps, whatever works because the sun hits hard. Bring plenty of liquids, as well.Written October 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The boat ride is not too long. The water in April is chilly. My advice: ask for a 5 mill wet suit. That being said, if you visit in fall, the water will be warmer.
Check with TripAdvisor to choose your operator. Make sure they have towels! Also that the boat has a bathroom. And if they provide food, when will that happen. They should also probably anti-fogging liquid. And tell you where it is. I took a tour there without vetting the operator and that was a mistake.
This is a really great trip for snorkeling and diving.Written May 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I booked a room at a really nice b&b, Casa Juarez, knowing we would stay the night. We were so presently surprised when we got there. We stayed around the Malicon, which is a long boardwalk along the beach. There are so many nice restaurants and bars to choose from. We had dinner at Casamarte. Amazing food and atmosphere. Went to Tortuga beach before dinner and watched the sunset, which was amazing. What I noticed most besides not a lot of Americans compared to Cabo, was the prices at the restaurants were half of the cost of Cabo, and the quality of the food was exceptional. We will definitely go back for a longer stay.Written July 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- RoosterFish43Cleveland, OH31 contributionsNice beach, closer and less crowded than the other beaches. We went to this beach on our last day in La Paz. Definitely worth checking out if you have multiple days in La Paz to explore different beaches. We were there on a Saturday and it was not busy at all. There are two beach shacks to get food and drinks if you don’t want to bring them. There is also chair and lounger rentals. There is a place to rent kayaks at the end of the beach but was not opened when we stopped by.Written January 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andie GuardiolaSaltillo, Mexico26 contributionsNearest beach in La Paz from the Malecon, it’s really beautiful and has calm waves. Perfect for families, children and couples. Don’t let the sellers scam you, palapas are free if you arrive early, if you need chairs and tables you can easily get one for at least $300 pesos. It also has different restaurants but they sell mostly the same.
We got to swim with different kinds of fish and saw some dolphins too.
Another important thing to take into account is that this is a PUBLIC BEACH, so restrooms are not filthy or in a bad state, they are simply sandy and wet because as I said, it’s a public beach, if you don’t like this maybe a hotel beach is a better option for you.Written August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Just contemplating how beautiful this place is.
Make sure to get.there as early as possible to avoid crowds. (It's not as crowded as Maya Bay I'm Thailand and way more beautiful).
This beach is as close as it gets to Maldives, where I've been twice.

The bus was comfortable and the driver drove well. Our tour guide, Marcos spoke English very well and was very informative about La Paz and El Serpentario. He was humorous and made his talk interesting. He was also the guide at El Sepentario and showed us various snakes, amphibians that we got to touch and take pictures.

There were little QR codes to scan for English translations on the exhibits. For those where QR codes were not available, I used Microsoft Translator, which worked well. I recommend this as an hour of your visit if you want to learn about Baja California, and the human experience.Written October 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FloridaBBNNiceville, FL24 contributionsEasy to find and Apple Maps took us right to it. Last 4 miles is a wide dirt road but is well maintained with some potholes, just take your time. Stay off soft sandy shoulders and you will be fine. Spent afternoon walking and sitting on the beach. Very unique and well worth a trip out.Written January 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jquixoteSan Diego, CA57 contributionsTook the bus from town. 30 min ride. Beautiful beach with a few places that offer food, drink, and jet skis etc. However, beware the "agua mala" which are microscopic jellyfish that stung me while I went out snorkeling enough to make my snorkeling experience unpleasant and left me itching for days.Written November 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
