- Ronald RStromness, UK189 contributionsLocated on the coastal path just out off St Monan's just heading towards Anstruther. You will find the restored Windmill and the remains of the Salt pan buildings and workings. The windmill is in the hands of the coastguard and as such entry to the building isn't possible. It was built to pump up the water needed for the process of the Salt pans. The Pans remains are on the shore between the windmill and the sea and there are information boards placed around the old workings. I imgine the cool sea breeze would have been needed when the coalfires were evaporating of the water to leave the salt.
We found this a really interesting part of the walk and the is a little garden area and bench or two about hands. Also close by is the old seashore swimming pool, still relatively intact but starting to show signs of neglect, not as good as the one before Pittenweem also on this walk.Written May 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - BibcayGateshead, UK3,894 contributionsThis is what you call crazy good architecture. The church is medieval. It has nice grounds and great views. It is OUTSTANDING!!Written October 27, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.

- Ronald RStromness, UK189 contributionsOn the coastal path from Elie you will pass this little garden on your right hand side close to the sea. Even in April it was colourful, it must be spectacular in Summer.Written May 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ronald RStromness, UK189 contributionsIt looks like it could be a good castle to visit as it has quite a bit of history behind it. Unfortunately Historic Scotland were still awaiting the checks when we walked past on the Coastal path. So we left a 3 star rating as it still is a good photo when you can find a part that you can avoid the Heras fencing getting in shot,Written May 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
