- Michael N7 contributionsWe enjoyed walking on the Glass Window Bridge and seeing where the Atlantic and the Caribbean meet. Absolutely stunning!Written June 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Brad SUnion Pier, MI282 contributionsWhat an excellent nature preserve. You enter through a small visitor center where you get a good review of what's on the grounds. Then you can easily take off on your own without any guide. Each area has thorough, informative signage, and of course the plants sport name signs as well. You can tour a mangrove forest, fresh water basin, orchids, native plans, non-native plants, medicinal plants, cash plants, poisonour plants, plus enjoy a 360 degree view of the island from a small observation tower. Everything about the preserve is well-thought out and well-maintained. Plan on a good 2 hours, more if you really want to dive into the info and walk all of the trails. Who knew Eleuthera's red soil blew over the Atlantic from the Sahara Desert? - Mark WBoca Raton, FL2,709 contributionsAs veteran cruise passengers, we have visited several islands owned by cruise lines. Half Moon Cay offers many more activities than any of the others in our experience. In addition to dining, drinking, and shopping, Half Moon Cay features horseback riding, a glass bottom boat, and hands-on experience with stingrays, sea urchins, and starfish.Written March 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- BelGalGovernor's Harbour, Eleuthera56 contributionsAmazing water to swim. Road to reach it is a track and if it has rained in the past few days there will be big puddles to negotiate. Beach was quiet, just a few people and a couple of boats the first time. 2nd visit some people set up a bar and had really loud techo music so that made everyone leave, maybe that was their ploy haha. Gets very hot because the wind does not reach here so make sure to bring a hat and sunscreen.Written May 2, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- jmull404Gainesville, GA4 contributionsBeautiful beach with some great snorkeling around rocks on the southern end. Take some cool beverages and enjoy!Written April 29, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Roly MDartmouth, Canada6 contributionsQueen's Bath and Hot Tubs is accessed via a short but difficult dirt road. Footing is sharp coral in many places. Water temps in the hot tubs is very warm. Bath itself is a wave-swept inlet. Can be dramatic. Best viewed at high tide.Written May 12, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Amy HRuislip, UK81 contributionsWe must have come on a really good day as we did a great haul here. Wish we’d discovered it sooner. It had a lot of fresh vegetables and fruit which we had so far not been able to get at Bert’s for the Best or Cyril’s near where we were staying in Tarpum Bay
We managed to get our hands on a t bone steak, bag of chicken drumsticks and a large ready made lasagne for two which looks great.
There was an abundance of frozen meat including chicken, lamb, steaks , prawns and salmon- and much more! Also a huge choice of beer wine and liquor. We definitely stocked up.
As well as this we picked up some sea salt, jerk sauce and chips and fresh salsa.
This will be my first port of call now when doing self catering on the gorgeous island of Eleuthera
We cannot comment on the plants as we did not intend to buy anyWritten June 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Tess379Uxbridge, Canada189 contributionsMy daughter and teenage grandson spent an interesting hour there with Jean. They have both been to SW several times and wanted to know more about its history and the lobster fishing. My husband and I have had two visits over the years with different people staying with us and we have appreciated all that Jean has told us.Written January 5, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- MoniaitsLondon, UK1,234 contributionsOne of the most historical places in Eleuthera and the Bahamas in general but unfortunately it has been left to its own devices. Worthwhile a visit.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Tiffany BRogers, TX21 contributionsMy crew of 11 (ranging from 14-53) spent about 2 hours at here during one of our days in Eleuthera. We brought sandwiches and relaxed. We jumped several times. It was amazingly beautiful. Easy to find so I wouldn't pay for a tour guide. Its right off Queen's Hwy. I was worried about climbing out but my kids held the top and bottom of the ladder still for me. It wasn't bad - and I don't have much upper body strength. It's worth it. The water is cool and so beautiful. Like everywhere in Eleuthera, BRING BUG REPELLENT!Written June 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Barbara MDurham, NC34 contributionsThis is a perfect beach: sandy with few rocks, shallow & clear water, good snorkeling around the little rock island. There were maybe six other people spread out along the beach when we were there & we met a nice woman who lives there at the Escape Resort. We didn't think it was difficult to find, although we were actually trying to find Twin Sisters Beach when we ended up at Gauldings! This would be a good beach for children but we enjoyed the quietness of the few adults there. Saw a ray swim right up to the water's edge and swim along it for a long distance.Written February 11, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Zoey WDecatur, GA3 contributionsWe went here after leaving the airport as it was about 20 minutes from the airport. Nice to see all the waves crashing, hear the sounds too. Worth taking the drive over.Written August 10, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- GRZChicago, IL7,650 contributionsThe last time I saw swings in the water was 4 years ago in Great Exuma, Bahamas at Coco Plum Beach so needless to stay I had to stop at Tarpum Bay :) look at that water, it's Bahamas, it doesn't get any better.
The swings have seen better days but it's an absolute blast to stop here even for a few minutes just to enjoy these views - check out the area as there some great views here not only at the swings but if you continue off the main road and stay along the shore - we loved it!
We drove here from Governor's Harbour area on the way to Rock Sound - the drive is very pleasant and pretty relaxing/scenic for the most part so I highly recommended to anyone who likes to explore on their vacation :)
TIP: we were on the way for lunch to Rock Sound but I wish we had more time and days to give any of the local spots here a shot, especially the one literally across from the swings looked very inviting - it might have been the BaySide View one, looked pretty new and very inviting!Written January 8, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - MoniaitsLondon, UK1,234 contributionsOvergrown entrance site, could easily be missed. Not protected at all so stalagmites and stalactites are full of graffiti. A small ladder takes you down to the cave tunnel for your hike to the other end.Written April 27, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
