- Tricia SCharlotte, NC42 contributionsOur hotel shuttled us to the beach and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it exceeded my expectations! It was quiet and beautiful. I did not see any public restrooms, but A short walk to Blackbeard’s and you can get a great lunch, drinks and clean restrooms. In front of Blackbeard’s you can rent lounge chairs and umbrellas, also jet skis.Written March 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Francine W14 contributionsI love to visit gardens wherever we travel. The Butterfly Garden was beautiful. Hard to catch them on the frame long enough to get a good picture. Plenty to see and lots more f photos to take. Although you can tell that the garden was hit and effected by the storms it still help plenty if its beauty. I can imagine what it’s going to look like in the next year or so. Thank you Ms. Marilyn.Written June 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kasi R1 contributionMe and my boyfriend absolutely loved doing this!! It’s his favorite excursion that we have done so far and we’ve even contemplated about going back to swim with them since we only stood by them on a platform. 10/10 and highly recommend, dolphins are so friendly and cute. My boyfriend got the chance to feed them and the instructor even allowed him to sign his favorite trick out of all the ones we were shown. We also got to take some pictures with the parrots for only 5$ each personWritten August 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. And the owners are awesome people keeping the horse experience alive in Grand Bahamas! We learned a ton about the local birds, butterflies and fauna. And the beach portion of the ride was exhilarating. Thanks again!

She drove us to Shamie at Owl's hole and he took us the rest of the way of the rough road out. He was very polite and took some great photos of us at the hole. We brought 4 kids ages 8-17 and they all loved it. We all worked up the courage to jump off the ledge down into the hole. After the hole, we went kayaking at Lucayan Ntl Park. We saw the spot were Pirates of the Carribean was filmed. The kayaking was through mangrove trees and tight at spots but we navigated through just fine. We eneded at Gold Rock beach and spent 20 minutes there. We could have grabbed lunch at a local restaurant after, but we decided to head back to our cruise ship instead. Fun day! Highlight of trip. .Written July 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Kelli99Toronto, Canada188 contributionsWe booked this excursion directly through Carnival as it looked like something different.
The bus picked us up and took us on a 20-minute ride to the house. The driver was great as he pointed out things of interest and told us a little bit about the island.
We arrived at the house and were quickly greeted by the hostess. She was very friendly and explained how things would work. Fruit punch was also served around and we were then escorted to the back of the house for further info. Conch fritters were soon served and were very tasty!
The backyard has several picnic tables, chairs and a bar. Our teens were eager to try the paddle boards and kayaks so headed out into the canal. The water was cold so they weren’t out very long and as there were only 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards and 24 people, the kids didn’t want to hog them.
We were then escorted over to the beach which is just across the street. It’s a beautiful sandy beach but it’s public and we kept picking up broken glass. There was a volleyball court, trampoline, games and washrooms at the beach along with a few shops and small bar.
One of the staff brought over some chairs for us with a cooler of drinks.
We had about 2 hours at the beach and were then asked to return for lunch. Lunch was a choice of fish or chicken, rice, vegetables and coleslaw. It was good. We didn’t visit the kitchen for cooking lessons as it seemed to be a small area and a “staff zone”.
Dessert was banana bread and it was excellent!
Drinks were flowing and the bartender was friendly. Be warned that the rum doesn’t taste that strong but it is!
After our meal we had about 15 minutes before the bus would be there. They tried to play some lame drinking game but people weren’t really into it. They also tried to teach the “Dollar” dance but again people weren’t joining.
When the bus arrived, we all wished we could have had a few more hours. It was a fun day - something different from the typical shore excursion.
The house was nice and well kept it I don’t think I would call it luxurious. There was one bathroom and it would be nice if there was 2 when you have 24 people (could have been 30) sharing the house.
Staff were Great - friendly and open.
My two complaints/suggestion would be (1) purchase 2 more of both the kayaks and the paddle boards and (2) send someone over to the beach to check for broken glass OR warn your guess about the possibility of glass.
I don’t think I would do it again as “been there done that” but I would recommend others to try it as everyone had a great time!Written March 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I booked 7 dives but due to weather only got 2 days (4 dives) in. There is nothing that can be done about the weather so no problem there, I’d rather they not push to get us out if it isn’t safe. The people at the Reef Oasis front office were nice and helpful and make it easy to communicate through WhatsApp rather than having to go to the shop to find out if we are going out, etc.
The boat is comfortable and big and the dive sites we went to were about 10-20 minutes away. One day there were 6 divers and the next there were 4. It was great!
Along with the “normal” tropical fish, I saw a Hawksbill turtle and Scorpion fish at Pygmy Caves. Sharks Alley was fun with several Caribbean Reef Sharks and fun swim throughs. Papadock’s Wreck isn’t deep but nice to explore and saw another Caribbean Reef Shark and huge ray along with lionfish.
The coral on the dives isn’t as pretty as some places I have dived.
Really enjoyed Reef Oasis and all their people.Written September 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I really appreciated that this particular sanctuary is that is is large and gives the animals access to the open water training. They have freedom and prefer to return because they are comfortable and happy. The trainers focus on positive interactions and let the dolphons decide when or if they want to perform. We really enjoyed our trainer WadeWritten December 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Annette R6 contributionsA great morning of fishing with Husband and daughter who love a bit of fishing. I happily watched on but had a great time. Sea was choppy but nobody can dictate the weather. Lots of fish caught and we enjoyed our catch for lunch.Written December 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
