This was an amazing experience worth every dollar and my time. Here are some key points for those deciding whether to go on this Zipline tour or not:
- safety: Yes, it is absolutely safe. You would have to actively *try* to hurt yourself for something truly bad to happen. The guides are experts and take care of all of the equipment and connections for you. Your job consists of standing where they tell you, landing correctly with your feet and knees up (remember to grab the blue rope on the other side to arrest your momentum!), and taking a step of courage. The latter they can not do for you and that is the fun! It is a life changing experience for many.
- the view: You will have an incredible view on the 6 different platforms!
- conversation: The tour guides are experts at keeping you safe while allowing you to have fun. They have a great sense of humor. Other zipliners are a friendly bunch and it is easy to talk to people (I am extremely introverted and I had no trouble).
- parking: Parking is a bit of a pain so make sure your vehicle can handle the hills or, alternatively, take a cab or public transport there.
- physical requirements: If I recall correctly you need to be under around 250 pounds and no more than 6' 6"" tall (look on the website for exact measurements). You will need to be able to traverse some stairs and walk across a couple of rope bridges (again, it is very safe! You are hooked into a cable and so you can not fall off). As long as you can walk up and down stairs normally and do not have other disabilities (e.g. bad shoulder) you should be fine. Some of the fellow zipliners were a bit out of shape and so you hardly need to be an athlete to do this!
I highly recommend you give these operators a try if you want to do ziplining. It really is a fun and invaluable experience!
