The exhibit is excellent with replica movie pieces and scripts. When we went Nick was there and was super friendly and easily to talk to. I didn’t do the museum tour but I hear it was excellent.

Great beach, 2 lounge chairs and umbrella with 5 beers on ice in bucket for $40. Warm clear water and family friendly. Plenty of restaurants and other drinking establishments or options.
Simple and easy to find. Convenient from cruise ship with water taxi.

    Will definitely be visiting again.

Enjoyed some snorkeling and swimming with just 2 other couples on the beach. Clear turquoise water and darker sand.

The Boardwalk stretches all the way along Philipsburg downtown. It's a seaside promenade running by the Grand bay beach. Loads of bars, restaurants and shops along it. During our visit it was pretty packed as two cruisers were in the port.

Frontstreet is a classic shopping street catered for cruise passengers with loads of shops selling jewelry, cigars, liquor,...As such, I rate it average, 3 stars. Luckily, the shop owners aren't pushy, so it wasn't annoying.
However, this street has interesting historic sites I focused on, so I added one star - the St. Martin of Tours Church and Courthouse.

We enjoyed the Rusty Parrot a lot. The story is about the real pirates of the caribbean, it was an informative story told in a fun way. The whole experience including the story took us about 1,5 hour. We visited the top deck which has a restaurant and a bar (called The Tavern). The view up there is amazing. The food was easy but very tasty, the staff was super friendly and the drinks were (too) good. We bought some nice pirate accessories in the shop and brought home their delicious home made rum.
I could only give them 5 stars. We would definitely recommend visiting the Rusty Parrot!

We did a family trip to the water park and it was a lot of fun. Very nice staff who helped us along the way and made sure we were safe. The activities were great for adults and kids so we had lots of fun. All the running and swimming tires you out! Was a perfect family fun activity.

We wondered in as we were shopping and checking out the boardwalk, Front Street and nearby areas. Easy to miss little place, tucked away in a shady spot. Very welcoming people at the desk. Lots of artifacts and history about the island and its people, culture, language. It’s a free, self-guided tour. Reminded me of snooping through my grandparents attic full of antiques. It will take maybe 20 minutes, more if you are a history buff, but worth a stop.

This is rather an alley than a street, as it's maybe 200-300 m long and you need 3 min to walk it. It connects the Front and Back streets with several clothes stores and cafes along it. Houses are painted in vivid colors.
At the corner with Back street is a stop where you can catch the local mini van for Maho beach at 2$ pp.

St. Martin was discovered on Columbus second voyage in 1493. It was named after the Saint Martin of Tours as this was the day he sailed in.
This Church spreads between the seaside Boardwalk and Front street with nice exterior on both sides, however it was closed for visits so couldn't go in.

Back in the days this was an important fortress built by Dutch to protect sea access to their colony. It was strategically built on top of a small peninsula in 17c and destroyed in 1840. Today there's not much left, but you can still use your imagination.
It's an easy hike up and from there you'll have great views of both - Grand Bay and Small Bay.

Along with the nearby Saint Martin de Tours Church, this is the only notable edifice worth visiting from the historic point of view.
Originally, it was John Philips home - Scottish captain of Dutch Navy after whom town gained its name. It used to be a fire station and jail, today's a museum which was closed due to renovations.

This is a nice square between Front St. and the Boardwalk. It has in ground fountains which are fun for kids. They also have public restrooms. Nicely done.

We had a wonderful time at this beach on a cruise through the Caribbean. Sint Maarten was our favorite stop and we sound an establishment where we got to beach chairs, and umbrella and a bucket of beer for $25. It also had wifi. Sorry to say I can't remember the name of the place, but the next time we're in Phillipsburg we will return there. It's located to the right of the water taxi depot.
