... d'Arlet can be little challenging due to steep, narrow and curvy roads, but the drive is scenic and beautiful and totally worth it because you will end up at some of the most beautiful beaches in Martinique.
One of the best snorkel beaches in the world.

... trail to La Savane des Petrifications is very pleasant: easy walking, in the shade for the most part, along different beaches; and there are different spots for birdwatching, particularly great egrets and herons.
We haven't experience all the beaches in Martinique , but from the one we have tried this is the most beautiful one :) Convienient car park , some small souvenirs shops , and some good local restaurants.

We had a perfectly prepared whole fried fish (vivaneau) tha rivaled the finest restaurants.Don't miss the local ladies who roam the beaches selling homemade coconut ice cream out of coolers.
This must be one of the nicest beaches in all of Martinique.

Highly recommend staying at Airstream Paradise which is literally steps from this beach.
What a beautiful little village with superb beach.

The black sand creates hues of blues and greens that are very different than the white sand beaches.
Amazing corner of heaven, this beautiful beach makes you feel like you're in one of the most amazing places on earth.

All the beaches in Martinique somehow have something different about them and all worth visiting.
We did the beach the first day without snorkeling gear and still had a great day, 3 kids and 3 adults happy.

Like what other reviewers have mentioned previously, it's a small quiet beach protected by the outer reef making the current very manageable to swim.
Nice, clean beach a bit off the beaten path.

We thought this area was charming with lots of restaurants and accessible beaches.
Right next to the hotel, there is a small plaza with a few beach shops, a walk up cafe/ice cream, the jet ski rental place, and a large bar.

Outstanding beach...
the beach bar is nice and accessible bathroom, clean and with a very soothing shower , which allows a return without salt water in the body.

A lot of reviews of the small towns in this area focus on the beaches and activities in the water, but we found that Grand Anse d'Arlet was simply a beautiful little town to stop at.
The beach has a restroom/changing facilities and there are a number of restaurants/bars.

The water is safe to drink, the ocean/bays are about 80º, the snorkeling is good, and there's a variety of beaches available around the island, and good hiking esp. in the northern part of the island.
We were able to walk to the marina (where we took a roundtrip to ferry to Fort de France and, on another day, a half-day sailing excursion), shops, great restaurants, and Anse Mitan (a large public beach).
1 Way to experience it
