    Worth going!
    Beautiful House and views, a great tour for kids to learn about the dark history of slavery. Our tour guide was excellent.

    Worth a long drive!
    After a long drive, I was glad that it was worth the discomfort of a packed minibus. Our guide round the museum was a young girl so full enthusiasm that she made everyone liven up and get involved. Loads of Marley information, and even if you are not a superfan, you will still have a great time.

    If you love hummingbirds, gardens, and art, DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!
    This was a magical experience for me. While listening to Ras tell the story of their humble beginning, hummingbirds sat on my finger and drank from the feeder in my hand. The experience brought me to tears of joy. The views are spectacular, the garden is full of amazing flowers, plants, a waterfall, and art sprinkled throughout. The gallery has gorgeous artwork. I felt like I was visiting with friends, and left with such an intense feeling of joy and peace. When Tamika told me that having a female hummingbird visit, it is a messenger from a lost loved one, which I loved because hummingbirds were my moms favorite bird as well. 100% recommend this place.

    Very delicious
    You eat on the verandah with the singing tree frogs. Our meals, especially the shrimp curry was the best of any restaurant in Jamaica and I chose that dish in several restaurants. Brilliantly executed.

    Interesting Experience
    Not to be confused with the Bob Marley Tour in Kingston, this was where Bob spent the first 13 years of his life and as such this is a look back at those years.
    It was a historic look at his family life and family before him at there time in 9 mile. And also Bob's final resting place where you can visit to pay your respects.
    We had hoped to get the famous "Captain Crazy" as our guide, but Curtis was just as informative and we learned a lot from this experience.
    Be warned, before yoy enter the experience there are people selling various cannabis products and it is not discouraged that people buy and smoke while on the tour. Although this did mot bother me personally I feel some people will take offence to this. And something that is worth knowing before commiting to the tour.

    You will remember this
    It is a must see, just because Bob Marley is still so important for Jamaica and it is good to remember him and this place.
    After a challenging drive we got to the place, but we couldn't find the entry. A man walked up to us in our car and helped us park together with some local boys. He offered to do the garden tour and the mausoleum tour, but somehow we didn't feel he was a 'official' guide. After a walk we found the entry. A huge blue closed gate. Knock on it and it will open. After the gate there is plenty of parking space.
    Then you can buy a ticket, and get a guide assigned who will explain the house where he was born, show the mausoleum and much more. Impressive!. Also a group plays some music for you. Our guide had the nickname 'Barky" Nice and friendly and proud of his heritage. So the right guy if you would understand his dialect. As we are not native English, some sentences (especally at the end) were hard to follow. But we got the vibe, which you shouldn''t miss for 30 USD per person, excluding tips for the guide, band and the man/boys outside guarding your car 😉

    A well-preserved great house with history and views in the bargain
    A devoted and highly informed guide takes you through both a well-preserved masterpiece of colonial architecture and a slice of Jamaican history. Wonderful view of Falmouth and the sea beyond.

    We enjoyed seeing the Fort. Our guide was knowledgeable. We were the only ones there. Hopefully others came later in the day!

    Fascinating Feast
    Lisa leads a very talented team of local cooks and servers making very creative food - often decontructions, riffs or plant-based reconceptions of classic dishes. Sometimes earthy, sometimes fancy, sometimes exotic, usually surprising, always delicious and made with local ingredients. Many courses of tapas sized servings spread out over 4-ish hours with Lisa telling an interesting story about each dish. I didn't want to go when I heard how long it takes but a friend talked me into it and it was fun and the time flew by. Plus you need the time to handle all the food without it being too much. I'll go again just for the food but the scene is fun too. It's a large interesting property in the hills above Priory. They've built a very cool wooden dining room and open kitchen that can be opened up to the air - great environment and atmosphere, good vibes with other guests. We took a walk around between courses - Chris had good stories about the living things. They have an amazing pack of gorgeous friendly enormous dogs who greet and escort you too.

    Wonderful tourist attraction
    The coffee plantation was truly fascinating. The gentleman who provided information regarding the history of the plantation and how coffee is grown and harvested was extremely knowledgeable. I learned an awful lot in those 30 minutes.

    For my first time ziplining, I have to say the tour guides did a great job of making sure we were all comfortable all while ensuring our safety. They made it fun and also provided a history of the plantation.

    Pauline’s for trips
    We stayed in the royal Decameron 2022 November. When it came to trips we always went to Pauline’s just outside the gate at the hotel, it’s not marked and is just a gift shop to look at. I did whilst there suggest she puts up a sign to say she does trips, don’t know if she did,
    The driver Ranje was great will take you anywhere you want really, we went to Bob Marleys birth and resting place, in my opinion a must do!
    Also the Blue Hole, walk up a waterfall and jump off rope swings into the pools, wonderful experience, not for anyone unable to walk far ( we’re early 60s and still jumped off rope swings,) need water shoes which Pauline sells if you don’t take.
    Also went to Iluminous lagoon ( wear a swimsuit,) fascinating place.
    Take cash whenever you go the tour guides EXPECT tips which I find a little off putting. At the iluminous lagoon if you have a photo taken by the guide they charge 25 dollars for the picture which from what I could make out was from their camera /phone to yours!! So not a physical picture.
    We also bought a few bits and pieces at Pauline’s too.

    Have to say Pauline is a lovely lady, very friendly and obliging. Best of all we were able to give an hours notice to go on a trip if need be which for us was perfect as my husband suffers from IBS so not sure till the day if we can make it.

    Also on the trips you are never rushed or limited to time as you are tui. And is you don’t want to do part of a trip you don’t have to.

    Won’t be going back to Jamaica but if we were we go to you for sure.

    Fun but not for the faint hearted
    Too many hustlers. I was actually grabbed several times. I'm a very experienced traveller and understand how desperate people can be to make a living where there's no social welfare.
    Many people obviously stoned or drunk.
    Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is a very pleasant area, great service and food. The staff are only too willing to order you a cab so you don't have to run the gauntlet of the Hip Strip again
