If on a cruise leave the port and search out an excursion. Much cheaper than those offered thru the cruise line. We found Amber Cove to be beautiful and clean. We left the Cove for a tour to Puerta Plata. So enjoyed the tour and our tour guide Pablo. Good time

We stopped at Taino Bay Terminal on our cruise and walked around the port. It was lovely. Very nice shops. Music playing. Nice bars and restaurants and lots if things to see. They really did a lovely job with this port.

Some parts of this beach are nicer than others—beach in front of gran ventana much nicer than in front of Wyndham. A whole bunch of hotels are on this strip and some are shut down which is odd.

The umbrellas are a great photo-op but there are coffee shops, cigars, boutiques, chocolate and restaurants. It’s definitely a place tourist flock to.

The Paseo de Doña Blanca or The Pink Street of Puerto Plata! This alley is covered in pink. Named after Bianca Franceschini who helped built a hotel for travelers in the late 1800’s that helped boost tourism. This area is probably one of the most photographed.

Beautiful views! There just wasn't enough places to sit and enjoy the beauty and relax. And there is a lack of shade.

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 10:30 am and made our way towards the entrance of the park. The park was on the smaller side, but did contain a decent amount of space to roam around and enjoy the scenery. The Catedral San Felipe was located directly next to the park, and there were quite a few locals trying to sell various items, along with taxi rides.

Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

Great beach but very crowded and it wasn't that clean and we were expecting it to be much cleaner, but we enjoyed the couple of hours we spent there with sun bathing.

Good trip. We arrived at approximately 10:45 am and made our way towards the entrance of the church. There were quite a few locals in the front of the church, trying to sell us taxi rides around the city. There was a mass going on during the time that we went, so we paid our respects and stayed for a couple of minutes.

Tip: I recommend spending 15 minutes here if you truly want to see everything.

Sad to see the decline of this mall. was thriving in past years. Bar and pizza place are great. Really sad to see all the empty stores though.

Renting a beach launcher for around 150 Pesos is possible, with shade or in the sun. There are merchants bringing you coconuts, sweets or other treats, if you wish. There are also restaurants and bars for your lunch. Only disadvantage is the plastic trash that washes up on the beach. Beach shoes are recomended due to the water not being clear, and the trash that can be washed up.

The first price I was quoted for Larimar and Amber was far too high and it took quite a bit of haggling before I got the items down to the prices that were comparable to the researched prices I saw. Saw many tourists did not do their homework and paid for it.
