- Carina W10 contributionsWe were visiting on our honeymoon and this site came highly rated! We had awesome food, listened to both a steel drum band (and another band came on later in the night which was equally phenomenal ) and were able to enjoy an amazing sunset and all the kitties that came with it!Written December 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SGO001Toronto, Canada8 contributionsWe went to beaches on the western side of Antigua: Dickensen, Jolly, Valley Church, Ffreyes, Little Ffrreyes and Darkwood. All beaches are good with few differences. Water color is turquoise everywhere and sand is soft and white.
Jolly beach is by far the best beach in Antigua. Soft, white sand and very long and wide beach with gentle slopes. Waves are gentle but still there. Decent mix between being peaceful but still having people around. Another great things was green hills on the back.
Dickensen Bay was also good but we found it was too busy and also it was not as wide or long as Jolly beach.
Valley Church beach had steep slope and was actually very narrow. Also sand was not firm on the slopes. But water was more clearer than Jolly and Dickensen.
Little Ffreyes was also very lovely, perhaps #2 beach in my opinion. Was wider than Valley Church, water was very clear and waves gentle. It wasn't too crowded and had also trees. Nice for someone who wants to spend some relaxing and peaceful time on the beach.
Ffreyes and Darkwood beaches had very strong waves, and good for those who prefer that.Written December 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We live in Norfolk, UK (also known as Nelson's County) so it was very interesting for us to go and see Nelsons Dockyard. It was really surreal to se buildings that would look at home in many parts of the UK just sitting there on the Caribbean island. It was really a fascinating visit and nice break from the beach.Written November 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Quite spectacular. Couple of very friendly guys renting out a pair of sunloungers and an umbrella for USD20 for the day. Fabulous beach bar (my wife asserts the best lobster roll she has ever had, my red snapper was similarly great).
Wish I could live there all year round, really....(and in general I am not a beach kind of guy)Written November 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Food was good and drinks were good. I highly recommend coming to this beach. It was 15 minutes from our hotel. It was a dream!! Best water and best sand!!Written June 9, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- SGO001Toronto, Canada8 contributionsThis review is for Little FFreyes beach, which we found to be much better than the main Ffreyes beach.

- TravelingSoccerLoonSaint Paul, MN6,582 contributionsBeautiful sight watching the Atlantic Ocean crashing against the rocks which has created the geologic formation, Devil's Bridge. Multiple vendors have set up stalls here which was a bit strange and creates a touristy feel and takes away from the natural beauty of the spot. While it was interesting to see, I would not travel far out of your way to see it. Spending 15 minutes here is enough. However, it would be worth combining with a visit to nearby Betty's Hope Sugar Plantation and to Long Bay BeachWritten October 1, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bexy34Petts Wood, UK58 contributionsPlease visit this beach it is truly amazing. This is one of our favourite beaches in Antigua. Easy to park then you are straight on the beach. We hired 2 loungers and an umbrella for 10 usd each from a nice man who will offer you a lounger when you pull up. Not pushy at all. The water is amazing and the sand is powder soft. Very clear water and good for snorkelling. Please be aware that we visited in the week which was very quiet. We went again on a Sunday and it was very busy with locals playing loud music. Football’s flying past your face while trying to relax and generally really loud. The beach bar there serves good cocktails and food but is quite expensiveWritten November 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Mvpo81London, UK15 contributionsAmazing day trip . Not only do you get to feed and swim with pigs/piglets, but you learn a lot about pigs too.
Great for all ages very friendly /welcoming and informative. It is very accessible to all the hotel guests and even to people at Five Islands. Would highly recommend to anyone staying in the area.Written December 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
