The Hallmark Resort is located directly in front of Haystack Rock. Perfect location, easy walk to beach, weather was in the 60s and sunny blue skies, no crowds, great eats and comfortable bed.

Highly recommend a quick stop, easy walk to the beach to go down to the ocean and look at the huge majestic rock!

Great views at the top, even if you decide not to climb the tower. Wasn't too crowded on a Sunday. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area.

Nice aquarium exhibits and interesting for all ages. Has a play park for children, has a coffee shop and a cafeteria. Several exhibits inside including a tunnel with different sea life and fish. There are two jelly fish tanks. Sharks, large fish, colorful smaller fish. Petting tanks with starfish and urchins. Outside, there are sea otters and seals as well as bird aviaries. Nice gift shop with art, tshirts, stuffed animals, etc. Veteran, senior and AAA discounts. Perfect size for young children. Very enjoyable.

When we were in town the weather was quite rainy windy and cold however it didn't take away from the views this park provides. Looking down on the beach as the large waves rolled in and the storm clouds came in over the top really just added to our visit. This park really is beautiful and is quite a gem whether it be at the view point, Indian Beach or looking at the large moss covered trees that surround the road. While not a large park, the views that it provides are enormous.

Great place to go. Stunning scenery. Parking limited so could be busy in summer. The interactive centre was excellent. Highly recommend the trip!

An interesting museum. We've driven past it many times but never stopped.

We did a tour of the Columbia light ship, climbing down into the engine room.

I was told this is the most photographed lighthouse in the world. I would say in Oregon 4 sure. The hike to the top of hill is very scenic especially the views of the beach below. Make sure you go all the way to the top, here you can see the top of the lighthouse. I would definitely spend time at the beach after.
Note: you can only visit the 1st floor but you can go in the care takers house. I didn't have the time

Get there at least 1 hour early before the King Tides so you can get a parking spot. Great viewing of the various wave responses.

Breath taking. The gardens are just breathtaking and the trails lead to beautiful places too. Well maintained and worth the drive out. Keep going to the point and you can see the seals and sea lions. Great chance to see wildlife and the grounds of the garden are easy to spend time in and enjoy.

As avid photographers, my partner and I headed to Fort Stevens State Park to get some shots of the Peter Iredale. It was a Sunday evening and I expected the place to be someone relaxing. It was not. We had to park a good distance down the road and walk up to the beach, which was still packed. I guess I didn't quite get that the wreck was right at a big parking lot/beach entrance, so there were a bunch of people all around the wreck at all times. I did manage some good photos, but was a bit disappointed that I didn't do enough homework to know that you go there very early to get the best shots and sunset shots at the wreck are probably always busy in the summer.

Still cool to see it in person though.

Yaquina Bay Lighthouse is an incredible place to visit! If your looking for a fun place to explore around the Oregon coast, this is a perfect spot. Not only is there a light house but also other cool spots such as a tide pool, a 10-15 min trail hike with a view point, and a cove point with a mini beach and where you can see the waves splash against some giant rocks up close. If you get lucky enough, you might be able to see some ocean wildlife! This place is very peaceful and full of adventures! I highly recommend visiting Yaquina Bay Lighthouse!

We went to the fort on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't busy. There were a couple living history performers about and they were very interesting. The fort looked in great shape and the trails out to it and back to the Visitor Center were excellent. The walk was easy and the trees appeared to be old growth and very impressive. The VC was under some sort of construction, so we did have to deal with that, but it looks like it will be really nice when it is completed. It's a NPS site, so it is definitely worth a look as they always do an excellent job preserving or representing history.

Certainly worth a stop, because it isn’t everyday you get to see pinnipeds in the wild living their best lives. Anyone can go to the zoo or aquarium, but there is something much more magical about animals in their natural habitat. The elevator takes you to a viewing area of the grotto, and it’s loud & stinky but when the tide is coming in, it’s a blast to watch the sea lions ‘catch a wave’.

It’s like $18 for adults/teens and less for younger kids. On a clear-ish day, the viewing of the surf is amazing and the grotto is always covered.
