Had a great time with Kevin. He was a lot of fun and very knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. Did this trip because it was still too cold for me to get soaked on a whitewater trip but I would definitely use this company again on future trips. They were good about following up a day or so before to make sure we were ready. Conveniently located near downtown so if you are staying in that area you can walk and skip parking but there is a public lot just behind the office. We were going at on off time so there was plenty of parking but I'm sure during peak times that can be an issue. Can't wait to go back to Jackson and add another float!

We had a great float with Caleb. He was knowledgeable, friendly and taught us a lot about the river.

Jackson Hole Grand Teton National Park Scenic Float Trips are run through the Heart Six Ranch in Moran, WY. My wife and I were among the seven passengers taking this trip in mid-September 2022.

As guests of the Ranch, we were instructed upon check-in to be at the café at 7:45 the morning of our float trip. Our first clue that things weren’t going to be ideal was that we didn’t get going until after 9:00 a.m. without much explanation or communication with the passengers. Once on the water, our guide was curiously non-responsive and almost brusque, never volunteering information about the area and answering guest questions with one or two words. Several guests tried to engage him during the 3-hour trip, but could only elicit the most basic responses. Frankly, it made everything feel a little awkward.

To be fair, our guide had the requisite technical skill, getting us in and out of the float boat without us getting wet, and adeptly and gently turning the boat so that all the passengers could get a clear view of all the beautiful sights along the Snake River. And, he did point out what little wildlife we saw, a bald eagle in a tree and a golden eagle flying overhead. The scenery was enchanting, and the ride itself was quiet and relaxing. It’s just a shame that the most animated and enthusiastic our guide was that day was when I tipped him after the trip; I guess I should at least feel good about him appreciating that gesture.

We really enjoyed much of this float trip; it’s just a shame that an unenthusiastic guide and mediocre communication with guests kept this exceptional opportunity from being anything more than an average experience.

Sent several emails confirming everything and when / where to arrive. Very professional workers. Tour guide JoJo did a great job. Quick ride back in a clean new van. We saw eleven bald eagles and a bunch of other wildlife.

We're renting a house in Driggs ID this summer and were wondering if there's anything to do on the western side of the Grand Tetons as far as scenic drives, hikes, or trails, or is everything on the eastern side?

Are there any must do's in the Driggs/Victor area? Is there anywhere to rent ATVs in this area?

Thanks!
Answer: Hi,

There are some pretty epic hikes on the backside of the Tetons, and all start with a long drive down a canyon to get there.

Darby Canyon to the Wind Cave

Table Mountain (accessed by Teton Canyon)

Alaska Basin (accessed by Teton Canyon and best for an overnight)

There is also N and S Leigh Canyons that you can drive down a great way and then hike. Bring bear spray on any of these hikes!

The Big Hole Mountains on the West Side of the valley also offers some fun alternative hikes, although not as epic and wide open as you'll find on the Grand Teton Side.
Packsaddle Lake is a nice hike with a nice swimming lake and rope swing to end your hike.

Free Music in Victor every Thursday night (2018 lineup yet to be released)

Targhee Fest in July (at Grand Targhee) featuring mainstream artists like Michael Franti, Galactic, Lucas Nelson, Suzanee Vega and more. That was last year's line up, it changes every year / multi day festival

Targhee Bluegrass festival in August which is a bit more laid back than the latter... really fun.

Float Teton River in boat/rafts etc. Plenty of put ins - rent a kayak or SUP

I do not know of any ATV rentals in Driggs, but IMHO the best ATV experience would be an hour away in Island Park. There are a plethora of FS roads that access great little spots like remote areas along Island Park Reservoir, the river and Hebgen or Henrys Lake.

Also nearby you'll find Dunes in Ashton, ID which I have never experienced, but people tend to enjoy making this an ATV expedition for a day or a weekend. Rentals available here too

Do you golf? There is a small affordable golf course called Targhee Village which we find wonderful.

More expensive and upgraded public course would be Teton Springs. There is also Teton Reserve and the Links at Teton Peaks.
