What travelers are saying
- Violetsky74Kennesaw, GA92 contributionsIt was worth the wait to get in. We were too late in the day to get a tram ride, but the trail and surroundings were stunning. I love our national parks!Written March 9, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ImTheFamilyTripPlanner22 contributionsThis boardwalk stroll is accessible to all abilities and had some great wildlife sightings! I spent about an hour here and was pleasantly surprised how many birds, fish, and crocs I saw.Written March 12, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kiiiiiiiiim32 contributionsThis visitor center had beautiful, informative, and educational exhibits about the Everglades ecosystem and all of the organisms in it. A nice thing was that it was outside the entrance to the National Park, so you could visit for free and choose not to take the road to Flamingo if you didn’t want to drive through the park or didn’t have the time. The park staff inside the visitor center were helpful and answered questions about the trails that were within the park if you chose to hike.Written December 30, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anthony W4 contributionsBe sure to use your National Park ticket at other sites - the ticket allows access to other National Parks for 7 days after purchasing. We did both walks here. The boardwalk was short but provided lots of excellent wildlife views - including, of course, alligators.Written April 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jon HFort Myers, FL726 contributionsNot far inside the eastern entrance to the park, this site is really cool. You can opt for a guided tour or explore on your own. A knowledgeable volunteer is on site to answer questions. The exhibits are quite nice and very informative, and the site is in the same general condition as when it was last used in the late 70s.Written February 6, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Boo913Hawkins, TX1,306 contributionsWe spent two nights in the eco tents and it was delightful. We fell asleep stargazing and woke to Osprey calls, compliments of the majestic raptors perched in nearby trees. The park and trails are great and saw an alligator sunning. The only issue was swarming mosquitoes which gathered around us so thick they literally formed clouds.Written January 30, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - HatzlachaVirginia956 contributionsThough it is quite quick, it's a nice walk to see some of the Everglades ecosystems up close as well as a vista. Though we appreciated its overall beauty, a bit of naturalist-type homework on our part would have paid off so we could have understood what we were looking at better.Written February 21, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - vhash77North Wilkesboro, NC1,086 contributionsWe stopped at this visitor center while driving through the Everglades. A very informative center. We also walked the grounds and saw a few manatees in the water at the marina. A very enjoyable stop.Written February 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- mrpesceDoylestown, PA567 contributionsSmall trail all along the boarded walkway. - 2DMV10 contributionsWow! What an experience! I learned so much from enthusiastic and informative Ranger Olivia (she was a FABULOUS guide!) during our walk through the water. It was so different to see the flora and fauna while standing in the wetlands. The highlight was observing the alligator hole (sans the alligator) and then actually seeing an alligator in a different area on our way out of the wetlands.Written February 21, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - islandlovingtwosomeLake Forest, CA125 contributionsAfter the Anhinga Trail we decided to check out the Gumbo Limbo Trail. Very different indeed. We only saw two other people the entire time we were on the trail. If there were any animals, we didn't see them. It is quite jungly, green and pretty. Go for the Anhinga Trail and stay for the Gumbo Limbo Trail.Written May 4, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The Hiking HarpistBoston, MA53 contributionsLong Pines do not throw a lot of shade, so this was a hot walk. That being said, it's near the beautiful Long Pine Campground and is a great way to see plant life that differs from the lower, swampier elevations. The trail is long, but you can go as far as you'd like and then turn around. Even though it was January, I saw some flowers in bloom as well as some butterflies. The view up through the pine trees made for some incredible photos.Written February 25, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
