What travelers are saying
- Bobbie WWarwick, RI1,777 contributionsThis is a very nice area especially if you’re wanting to shop at some very high end stores. Restaurants galore but also expensive.Written October 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ryan Otto Ulrich468 contributionsHad the chance to visit 21_21, and I'm so glad I did. It was at the tail end of the De Lucchi exhibition, featuring Roppongi Rokken: Sei Case. The distinction between wood and bronze, the exploration of the spaces between indoors and outdoors, and the accompanying video were all fantastic. The pooploop installation was excellent as well - it made me think about the full cycle of things we usually consider in isolated moments. Make time to visit here.Written November 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Reasonable50Greenwich, Connecticut3,670 contributionsImpressive temporary exhibition ending 3/31.1300 yen. The museum was crowded on a Monday afternoon. Kyosai was an Edo/Meiji period painter regarded by many Japanese to be as or close to as important as Hokusai. His training was classic and he started at the young age of 10. Some of this exhibition's works were on loan from the British Museum. If crowded, you will need about 2 hours. Lines in Japan's museums can be slow and tight but keep moving.Written March 18, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It is a nice great park with a few games for kids leaving near by but also a nice pound with a shelter for meditation/break.Written July 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sci77Tokyo, Japan170 contributionsA quick walk from Roppongi crossing, so not a bad idea if you’re in the area and want to see something more traditional. Nogi shrine is on the grounds of the former residence of Count Nogi, who was a wartime general and later tutor to the young Showa emperor. He’s better known for his (romanticized?) samurai-style suicide on the day of the funeral of the Meiji emperor. He slit his stomach to die along with his master. His wife followed suit and killed herself immediately after. The building where this happened is still there (you can see the room from outside the windows) plus a stone monument where the items bloodied in the ordeal are buried (yeah, really). From a western mind it seems pretty weird, but someone obviously thought his actions were worthy of recognition, and built the shrine in his honor (kind of like being made a saint, I think).Written June 22, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WorldDiner2014Tokyo, Japan90 contributionsBusiness travelers in the adjacent ANA Intercontinental Hotel will enjoy the restaurant options next door. Starbucks, Dean & Deluca, a grocery store, and pharmacy are all inside. Several Japanese restaurant options can also be found with nice staff and plenty of seating. Great food too!Written February 12, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Bonnie T8 contributionsAkasaka seemed to be near everything without being in the middle of everything! Amazing shrines and temples grand to miniature, restaurants with delicious dishes, shops in all price ranges, spa treatments available at any point that you want to take a break. Multiple train stations plus easy access to taxis. And so clean, virtually noiseless, and no odors…all unheard of in an US city in the summer. I had an incredible time!Written June 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

They created a shopping and dining complex called Akasaka Sacas several years ago. Not so much to shop but quite good area for dining. They have good restaurants serve all different kind of food, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Belgium beer, Chinese, Oyster bar, and many different Japanese foods, sushi, sukiyaki, shabushabu, etc.Written July 26, 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
