This is a beautiful temple with intricate designs. However you will probably finish seeing this in 10 minutes. This is best combined with the Anping Fort.

This is a lovely temple, located next to the Anping fort.
While it's anything but unique, its interiors are just plain lovely and colorful.
The place was rather empty when we visited it in midday.

Wenzhu Temple is another old temple within Anping historical site. It was built in 1789 and the main deity of the temple is the mythological God,Li Jin (李天王李靖) that originated from the book on the Romance of the Investiture of Gods. This deity holds a pagoda in his hand and possesses miraculous power. Beside this main deity, the temple also holds the Mazu Goddess and two other deities.

The temple was renovated and reconstructed on a number of occasions before her present status. It is located just opposite the old well within the residential area of the Old street of Anping.

The majority of the residents of Anping were migrants from the mainland Fukien Province and they carried with them their spiritual deities that provided them with the blessing to face the hard challenges in a new foreign land.

The temple looks impressive with her intricate designs and I am glad to be able to visit such a historical temple that dated back to the 18th century.
