- CanuckJamesNishinomiya, Japan1,758 contributionsHow does a tourist information center get such high marks?
When it is located right on the tip of Awaji Island, looking across the water to Shikoku island. Where you can at the right time of day, see the Naruto Whirlpools.
The tourist information center is not that big. However, it is packed with products that are local to Awaji Island. So you get onions, onion soup, onion dressing, dried onions, fried onions, freeze-dried onions, onions and wasabi, onions in sauce, onions in oil ....... the list is seemingly endless.
There are nice viewing areas and pay telescopes to see the whirlpools.
Of note, if the main parking lot is full, there is a secondary, overflow parking lot about a kilometer away. Shuttle busses every 5 minutes. Parking lot attendants will inform you well in advance that the main parking lot is full.Written April 4, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Fee is charged if you want to play the games inside or to enter different anime theme buildings.
The whole area is outdoor so please prepare umbrellas. The park area is large so we didn’t travel through the whole park during our visit.
We have tried the zipline in Godzilla Area! It is excited and we loved it !
There are some thematic restaurants inside the park with reasonable price.
All of the staff are so friendly! The scenery is beautiful. Whole atmosphere is nice.Written October 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The flower fields are set against a backdrop of the sea and blue skies , hence the lovely pictures . There are toilets as well as a shop that sells ice cream , snacks and the famous Awagi onions . Worth an hour visit if you are passing through .Written October 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - EdlileungHong Kong, China814 contributionsWe drove from Somoto where we stayed. Upon arrival, two carpark were available. Maybe it was Sunday, some ceremonial event tajen place. We strolled along the side entrance since we parked our car further apart in the second carpark. Anyhow, we went back to the main entrance for picture before we left for lunch opposite the street. It was a quiet place and spacious. Trees around plus some scenic views. There was a famous tree symbolize a couple and had been grown for over 900 years. We took many pictures and enjoyed the lovely scene.Written October 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WTGreg-40Hatsukaichi, Japan66 contributionsComing back to Hiroshima from Osaka at the beginning of Golden Week here in Japan I wanted to go somewhere nice, but not so crowded and since we had never been to Awaji we decided to give it a shot. The place has a little bit of everything. You can pay 500 yen for parking and bring your picnic lunch and enjoy a nice day in their beautiful garden. For a little extra they have a botanical garden and park. You can also go fishing just across the way at Tsubasa Harbor. You can also stay at the Westin Awaji that is on site. Nice place to relax and enjoy some peaceful time with the family.Written May 6, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
