Beach was Beautiful !! I couldn't believe how warm the ocean water was. You had to walk a ways out for ithe water to get up to your waist. The tide was strong therefore the water was not clear and the inside you your swim wear was covered in sand. It was a great beach to surf on.

We booked the 3 hour tour but did not know it was mostly hiking up the 10 waterfalls. It is AWESOME. The guides are really entertaining. Try to bring Chacos or water shoes since you spend a lot of time walking in the water and swimming in the pools. Out group of 7 had a blast and would definitely recommend it. We will try the monkey tour next time.

Awesome place! Dan (the butterfly man) was super friendly and gave us a private tour of his butterfly garden. This was such a unique experience, we will forever remember it.

I love the art I find in Costa Rica and this shop has some great examples and beautiful pieces from local artists. The owners I think are Expats from Canada and were very friendly.

This was the most beautiful lush garden that I have ever seen. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there. We took millions of pictures, most were postcard worthy. After touring the gardens, we met the owner, who was very friendly and a fellow Texan! They served fruit after the tour and it was also a treat.

I would caution people who are not physically fit that there is a lot of walking and some steep climbs. If you are up to it, it is so worth seeing! If you aren't fit, you may want to take a different tour!

Take the fun horseback riding tour, then hike to see the beautiful waterfall, then ride the horses a short distance to the piscina, which is such a beautiful setting for swimming amongst the rocks and small falls. The people who work here are SO nice. You'll have a great time.

Nice stop at sunset! Jaco Sign is iconic and everyone stopped on the side of the road. Great vistas of Jaco.

A short drive from San José, Playa Mantas /Playa Blanca are a nice day trip to relax and enjoy in a family friendly environment.
Both are supposed to be accesible to all, because Costa Rica has NO private beaches, but their access is a bit tricky.
Playa Mantas can be reached at no cost, though you have to pay for parking.

You can read all about the great beach but if you lose all your valuables the trip ends in sadness. Simply don’t bring them with to begin with. Thieves break the windows here. They clean you out at beach parking lots. Best to bring all to beach but don’t bring much cash or anything much at all.

We had a lovely 3 hour tour with our guide Mauricio Vasguez (what's app 506-8889-6061). He is very skilled and patient at finding monkeys and birds to see, and also explains about the rain forest flora. We loved seeing a large group of about 30 spider monkeys swinging through the trees. We also saw a male howler monkey.
We had visited Manual Antonio National Park the day before, and Carara was by far a much better choice. There are few visitors here and there are a lot more animals to see in a transitional rain forest. We traveled the easy paved handicapped trail, then drove several minutes down the road to a much more jungle-like trail. We arrived at 7 am to get the best opportunity to see animals, and were glad to have done so, as there were far fewer to see by 10 am.
We purchased the tickets the day we visited.

When coming to Jaco from the airport ask your driver to stop at the Crocodile Bridge just 30 minutes north of Jaco. Most drivers I met show real pride for their country and are happy to show off what Costa Rica has to offer.

It is also nice in return to tip a little extra for the stop. Crocodile Bridge is a free attraction that takes about 10 minutes. During my visit I watched three large crocs (15 to 17 feet long) resting in the shallow water.

Not the prettiest beach, but a long beach with plenty of room to roam. We were staying at the Marriott, which is right on the beach; the beach was completely empty during our 10-day visit. This is not a white-sand beach, more of a muddy-brown sand. There are a lot of hermit crabs at night, so watch your step.

BEST Surf Lessons In Jaco! Family of 5- beginner to intermediate. We took 3 lessons during our 7 day trip. Instructors are excellent. Make sure to spring for the photo package. Definitely worth the Colones!
