There are parts where cyclists and walkers have separate paths and it is good for Children also although younger ones need to be kept an eye on as quite low fences in parts and steep drops.
We rented bikes for myself and our 12 and 14-year-olds from Happy Bike in Riva del Garda (reserved them the day before because we needed a kids bike, which they can run out of).
