- AndreasRa_79Aachen, Germany2 contributionsVery natural delicious food to a very fair price, in a quaint and cozy atmosphere, with great options to sit out- or inside, down- and upstairs, with nice views on the village.
All options on the menu sound so great that I had a hard time to choose ;-)Written January 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Porl PHarrogate, UK115 contributionsA beautiful, quiet insight into cave dwelling and historical area. There are some wonderful hiking paths, that take in breath taking views. Waking up or going to sleep in Acusa Seca is magical. A short drive from Artenara its well worth the detour to see this fabulous cave village.Written June 7, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Francisco Jose Fernandez SanchezLas Rozas, Spain599 contributionsOne of the best Spanish writers of the 20th century Miguel de Unamuno spent a long time on the island of Gran Canaria
When an ancient name and aboriginal settlement arrived in the town of Artenara, he found a spectacular landscape where he admired the beauty of the island and its mountainous formations originated in the volcanoes.
From this place where its balcony is today I call the landscape that saw a petrified storm, because from here you can see how the ancient volcano expelled its ashes and lava and they were frozen in mountains
There are different viewpoints and balconies, not only one is worth visiting all of them, the town is not very big and also has a church and a hermitage in a cave that are also worth a visit
At the end of the town going up a small hill there is a bar-restaurant which is accessed through the mountain and from which I recommend having a snack contemplating the views for the last time before continuing on our wayWritten October 16, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A good place to rest and relax after driving GC-210.
Tours in buses stop here. There are not many of them but it is getting crowded for a while. It is worth waiting until they leave to stay alone in this beautiful place.Written February 10, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We parked the car and climbed the uneven steps to 1444m highest on the island which freaked her out cos she hates heights but as it was her birthday after some coaxing we reached the top and the views were fantastic as I set up my phone to video myself getting down on one knee and proposing so she came back down as my FiancéeWritten November 6, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AlbertSalichsManresa, Spain22,459 contributionsmirador de la Atalaya is one of the some lookouts located in Artenara, a tiny town in the center of Gran Canaria Island. In fact, it is the highest town in the island and it is surrounded by a lot of wonderful rock formations like Bentayga Rock and Nublo Rock, two sacred rocks for pre-hispanic inhabitants. From here you can see these views and the town, so it is a very beautiful place.

Also, you'll end up in the remotest place on Gran Canaria - Puerto de la Aldea where you can enjoy a little coastal walk and yummy seafood away from the masses.Written March 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
