The road to visit here has some sheep and is picturesque country-style. The waterfalls themselves are very nice and parking is literally on site and free. A few minutes off the main ring road. Minimal effort and great reward - you tend to weigh things like this when visiting Iceland as there is so much to see and relatively little time for vacation! Please kindly indicate if you found this info helpful :)

Great for those who prefer to taste icelandic coutryside having direct contact with real life on the horse farm than to stay in a 5-star city hotel. Was great to have a beer with Magnus, the owner and to learn about the life on the farm. Acccomodation was absolutely comfortable with strong imprint of personal dedication of the owner and his partner Selina and with magnificient view over the valley and waterfall. Special bonus was outside hot bath tub beside the waterfall. We enjoyed a ride on horses with Selina as well. Probably the best accomodation on our round trip around Iceland due to unique combination of enjoying stay on the real farm (including personal contact with farmer) and having the full comfort of accomodation in the same time.

Very informative and interesting. Lots of information and well presented. A good place to stop for people who enjoy learning about nature and history. Located not too far off route 1.

We stopped by Hvammstangi for lunch on our way to Akureyri. Heard about Kidka Wool Factory Shop from a TV program, so we went in and asked for a free tour. The lady who did the tour was very thorough in explaining the process and the different machines used. It’s amazing to see the level of automation. The tour lasted for about 20 minutes. Afterwards, we did some shopping in their store. I found the selection to be limited. Also, I am not sure if the prices in this factory location is better than retail stores in the city or not.

The shopping was OK, but I did enjoy the tour.

Our family loves seals so we were excited for this excursion. We had a blast watching the seals, taking in the scenery and enjoying hot chocolate and homemade pastries. The tour guide even provided binoculars to assist in viewing the wildlife.
