You can stand on the clifftop and watch the powerful waves crashing into the rocks below, or you can climb down to the sandy beach to relax on the sand .
We spent about 2 hours at this remarkable area of Mauritius and would recommend the journey especially if you are planning to visit the Black Gorge or nearby nature reserves.

This half day trip was organised through Mauritius Tours Booking, Our guide Nicolas, from Trekking Mauritius, led us on a 9km gentle stroll through the park, he was very helpful and informative.
Another day we did a couple of hours hike on one of the trails which was really enjoyable... Great way to walk off some of the overindulged calories (LOVE the Mauritian food) and see the local nature close up.

The Hanuman Statue is located on the top of the hill with an approximately 10-15 minutes climb, but offers a rewarding view overlooking the sacred lake and stunning views of the island.
Every year in February, during the Maha Shivaratri week, thousands of Hindus walk miles from every corner of the island to bring their gifts for Lord Shiva at Grand Bassin.
