It was just the 2 of us with Dan which gave us plenty of opportunities for Panama the Harris Hawk to land or be 'cast off' as well as an informative chat with Dan on the gentle walk around the estate grounds.
... day were great educational flying displays, with very informative talks , the passion and knowledge of the keepers / trainers was outstanding , and in my opinion very respectful to the birds and there welfare .

... was inhabited, and also the purpose of each different area. The ruins of the Abbey, which are quite extensive, are set in a tiny hamlet in wonderfully peaceful countryside and on first sight take your breath away.
Nestled in a beautiful valley, it isn’t hard to imagine the daily monastic life of the monks as you stroll freely around the ruins of the Cistercian Monastery.

We took the red route up and above the white horse, here the glider club launch, so it was great to have the plane take off over our heads and pull the gliders into position.
If you park at the small forestry commission car park directly at the foot of The White Horse after a short but steep climb up steps you can then follow the level path round to the vistor centre where there is inf...

Lovely stroll around a huge (5 acre) walled garden with hubby and our dog who was made very welcome, plus tea and cake in the Vine House Cafe sat looking out toward the garden - such a wonderful place to visit.
We only had a short time in this wonderful walled garden, as we were on a coach trip, but loved the peace and serenity of it, (not to mention the added bonus of the historic castle overhead).
