You have to take one of the small boats from the port to visit this cave and the nearby caves (you cannot go by yourself unless you are a trained sailor man/woman).
Don't be scared: to visit this particular cave you have to freedive briefly. It's just a second and anyone can do it!

Parked near the marina and walk through the marina towards the steps up to the piazza. It was pre Easter weekend weekday so everything was closed and only a few visitors around. Quiet and peaceful we walked through the marina and went up the steps up to the piazza. Very pleasant walk and rewarded with even better views of the sea and the marina.

The limestone formations here are absolutely beautiful and create such beautiful & impressive structures especially when viewed up close from a boat!!!

Nice hike from the seafront. The view is beautiful. For history lovers in any case. The area is relaxing and quiet.

We rented a boat in Leuca and visited a few cave with a friend that knew the area. It was an amazing day and this cave was really special. Definitely a place I would recommend. A great day out.

I loved to walk up to the church. On the top, there is a restaurant (probably not the best service around nor the best food, though).

Stand on the tip of italys stiletto heel and look out to the beautiful marine sea and horizon. Rocky outcrop easy to reach but stony path a bit tricky in flip flops! Worth a quick stop

My wife and I stopped here on a day trip tour of the Salento. What a beautiful place. It was incredible to see the place where St Peter first set foot in Europe / Italy. The views are magnificent. We were only here for short while but are already planning a longer, return visit.

In Santa Maria di Leuca, we visited the Apulian church in Gothic style, consisting of 3 naves
In the church, we saw a simple architecture with fine polychrome stained glasses and mosaic floor, recalling the austerity of Roman churches.

I went by boat and the experience of swimming in the caves is amazing. I believe they can be reach by the road - just be careful when climbing down.
