- candyfloss28Plymouth, UK42 contributionsWe 'found' Porlezza whilst searching for buses to Lugano. Staying in Lake Como, we took the ferry across to Mennagio from Bellagio and the bus from the terminus off Via Roma in Mennagio. The journey to Lugano was full of beautiful views the whole way, which took an hour and cost €27 for 2 people.
Porlezza is along the way on the journey at the beginning of Lake Lugano and is a typical Italian village. Lots of lovely shops and cafes and a small beach. It has many camping sites nearby and would make a perfect family holiday. Off the main road are pretty cobbled streets where you can have a coffee/ patisserie etc. Definitely an unexpected treat of a place and easy to get to on the C12 bus .Written July 18, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From a distance nice view anyway. What a nice surprise!Written July 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Vicky SilveAbbadia Lariana, Italy561 contributionsThis medium-sized church in the center of Porlezza is the main one of this really nice town, and it has a baroque style which makes it a must-see: there’s gold everywhere!Written January 9, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MinirenniZurich, Switzerland100 contributionsWe where surprised how man locals visited the market. Lots of stuff is certainly not fot the tourist. Also it was already the beginning of November i reckon that not all stalls where presented. Very good the cheese stall. Also the vegetables, fruits and nuts. Season for “castanja” Marroni. If you like honey and produces out of it there where two stalls. Obviously also stalls with clothes children clothes, handbags and so. The market ist quiet big. On a cloudy day in November worth a visitWritten November 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- higvinAustralia1,510 contributionsOn the foreshore at the eastern end of Lake Lugano. Bar Modulus’s building is no beauty but its views are great (you can also be served across the little road in front of the building right on the waterfront). We each enjoyed two double espressos and an excellent panini each for €23.Written May 13, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tara6 contributionsIf you are in Porlezza for the day I’d highly recommend renting an electric bike from this company. It’s only around €27 for half a day and that long enough to do an amazing ride - along the site of an old railway track - to the beautiful lake side town of Menaggio, where you can enjoy a spot of lunch and a glass of wine before heading back to Porlezza . Most of the ride is along easy to use cycle tracks in breathtakingly beautiful countryside and the e-bike makes it very easy indeed! Try it - you’ll love it!Written July 16, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
