We enjoyed a magnificent view of the Enza valley below from a loggia on the outside of the castle; that loggia was decorated with even more gorgeous frescoes and mosaics.
We were on a tour so our guide arranged our guided tour to the castle.

It's gigantic in proportions: it accommodated about 5000 people; in the stalls there was room enough for magnificent shows including replicas of naval battles, in the XVII century.
perfectly preserved this all-wood theater is one-of-a-kind and has a beautiful story: at the time it was possible to flood the floor and stage naval battles!
