What travelers are saying
- Ben PramudyaSemarang, Indonesia20 contributionsThe best time to visit this park is during the fall/autumn season. Late November is the best, you can enjoy the red maple tree and fabulous yellow ginko tree. The weather in November is also great, about 10-15 degrees Celsius. The location is near Shinjuku Station, Shinjuku San-chome, and Kabukicho.Written January 16, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ben KingLondon, UK342 contributionsGreat spot to see the Tokyo skyline, and it’s free! You can spot the Tokyo skytree and other important landmarks. On a clear day you can even see Mount Fuji. Nice way to spend an hour as the sun sets to see Tokyo turn from day to night. There’s an open piano up there, which is a nice touch tooWritten November 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Reina D3 contributionsThere too many bar options to choose from! Most of them seemed pretty interesting, but I went to one that already had some people there. I heard some other tourists walking around saying they got ripped off, so I guess you have to be carefulWritten December 3, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SrlonLondon152 contributionsWe went here in the morning. There was a short queue to enter the lift that will take you to the top floor where you can see Mt Fuji and the Tokyo area. Once you get to the top floor, you can spend all the time you want. There is a cafe and they sell souvenirs. Entrance is free.Written January 1, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Ben KingLondon, UK342 contributionsTruly unique area. The tiny streets and tiny restaurants are like nothing I’ve seen before. Each restaurant has a unique and delightful menu, just venture into whatever restaurant catches your eye. Be warned that a lot of them are cash only and there’s a ‘fee’ for sitting down - but you get an appetiser included in the price. It starts to get busy at around 6pm so try and get here around then. You want the bustling atmosphere!Written November 24, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Callum DouglasHamilton, New Zealand72 contributionsDead during the day, vibrant at night. Lots of people, food, and activities for any range of groups. I will give a warning to solo travelers, beware hecklers and being approached by sex workers (constantly)Written December 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JACChichester, UK160 contributionsVisiting the food hall is an absolute must when in Shinjuku, Japan. Vendors sell a huge range of products and it's incredible to see the artistry of the cakes, bakery and other confections, the array of fish and meat and super fresh fruit and vegetables. It's certainly not cheap to buy your weekly food shopping, but find something for a special treat, and you won't regret it.Written July 5, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Travelove5815,589 contributionsIt's amazing that only about half an hour away from the main bustling, super crowded & super busy Shinjuku city centre where we stayed, one is transported into a totally different world. To a slow paced, laid back , no crowds serene town. From the train station, turn right & stroll along the long but tree lined upslope Kagurazaka-dori St with many intersections in between. On both sides of the street, there are many nice & some famous food/dining outlets, shops & cafes. Prices here are also cheaper. Even during lunchtime, there were no sudden crowds but just some locals going about. Kagurazaka is a small ward in Tokyo but is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended.Written May 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sam T4 contributionsIt is cool to get a picture, but that's about it unless you plan to see it while it goes off. I saw part of it around 6:00, and there were lots people with their cameras on it. The classical Godzilla music plays too!Written December 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- swisstravellerBerne667 contributionsOn my latest trip to Japan, we stayed near Shin-Okubo, and went there twice, to have a lovely korean bulgogi/bbq. I have been to South Korea a few years ago, and really loved it there. Food wise, one of the things I really loved, was the korean bbq, where you grill your meat on a grill on your table, and then wrap it into a salad leave, and may add some ingredients like kimchi, garlic, gochugang, pickled radish etc. What I loved in South Korea, I found here, and that was great.Written March 31, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PSUBrat93Pennsylvania22 contributionsWanted to get the Japanese baseball experience while in Japan. Being a fan of baseball, I wanted to go to one of the older stadiums that Babe Ruth played in. Since the team that plays at Koshien were going to away while we were down in that area, I choose instead to go to a Yakult Swallows game in Meiji Jingu stadium. I was afraid that we would not be able to attend since the remnants of a typhoon were still around in the morning, but by the time we got to the game the sun was shining bright. The good - very easy to get to using the subway/metro from our hotel. I was also surprised by how close to the field we were for the price we paid. The atmosphere was incredible and I loved the cheers and that both teams had their brass bands. The bad - very tiny, crowded together seats that were not very comfortable. My back was killing me and I ended up bailing after the 5th inning. But it was still an incredible experience and one I would recommend.Written June 16, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wayfarer KCSingapore, Singapore302 contributionsI was there in autumn when the Gingko festival was held. The Gingko trees are really beautiful but the Gingko festival is rather disappointing with an assortment of fruit trucks and stalls selling touristy stuff.Written December 7, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
