Grander and better than Matsuya next door. More variety and more things to see and buy. Also better ambience and quality. All the typical departments are here, and more

We were taken to the food hall by our guide during our day exploring Tokyo. It's an amazing place, full of all sorts of beautifull, appetising food. A must-see!

Starbucks on the top floor is so relaxing! Great strawberry donuts too, while you reads few magazines at the bar. Staff were so lovely and professional.

The remainder of the shops are indeed overpriced and designed for the super elite.

Check out the rooftop terrace before you go- what a view

This very recent trip to Tokyo where I have visited several times over the past 52 years was my first solo trip. It was well planned by me since I believe it’s easier to have a better time when you plan your trip than not. Since I have not been in my usual good walking condition, I decided to stay in Ginza, close to the good department stores that also offer a number of good restaurants to dine in. Matsuya is a superb department store with a good collection of fashionable clothiers, very good food and wine Dept. in the basement and excellent choice of restaurants on 8 th floor. I dined at Kenyan, a fine sushi restaurant twice and once at the Tempura restaurant, as a longtime lover of Japanese food, I truly enjoyed my dinners there. I also enjoyed Sake and wine tasting in the basement food Dept. around 6 pm, I was happily tasting good sake and wine free during the Happy Hour.
To summarize my Tokyo experience of 4 days in 3 words, Safe, Clean & Helpful. I enjoyed my visit very much and will return soon.

A multi-story mall similar to Ginza Six, but I would say this one is a little more casual or down to earth than Ginza Six. It is a mix of art exhibits (some were interactive), pop up stores and mid to high retail. They also have the usual restaurant floor. I personally found myself a nice souvenir here that I can use daily (an excellent quality Inden-ya wallet with Japanese motif).
If you want to look around indoors, this is a decent choice.

Takashimaya Department Store was founded in 1831. There are four stores in Tokyo, the most prestigious of which is the Nihonbashi store. There is also a new wing next to the main building, which offers a wide variety of items from luxury brands to casual wear. 1 minute from Nihonbashi Station on the Ginza Subway Line. The department store is directly connected to the station, making it extremely accessible and very easy to use. It is a very user-friendly department store for shopping in Japan, with a wide variety of restaurants. The East Wing also houses Pokémon Center Tokyo.

The center of Tokyo Ginza is Ginza 4-chome intersection. Standing on the corner of that intersection is Ginza Wako, the main store of Wako Corporation, which was founded in 1881. The large show windows on the first floor are decorated with seasonal displays that add color to the Ginza area. All of the products in the store are Wako's own assortment of high-end, high-quality gems. This boutique is the perfect place to pick up a souvenir from the luxurious Ginza in Japan.

Tokyo station hosts lines of bullet and non trains.
You can easily loose your way in it. So unless you have been to it before and are knowledgeable of it better arrive to the station earlier to catch the needed train.

There are also many shops and restaurants, more like a mall.

Very helpful staff. Great selection of pearls. I was looking for items for my mother and the staff helped me look through bracelets, necklaces, and earrings until we found something I was looking for. I unfortunately don’t speak Japanese, but one of the staff spoke English very well which was super helpful!

Uniqlo (acronym for "unique clothes") is a multilocalized company, aimed to the manufacturing and sale of clothing items, which originated in Japan and currently has just under 4000 stores worldwide.
This branch (Chuo-dori, Ginza) isn't the oldest in Tokyo, but it certainly is outstanding. One of the largest in the world among those in the chain, being spread over 12 floors, it stood out - at least at the time we visited it, July 2024 - for the rows of mannequins arranged in contact with the windows so as to be clearly seen from the street, and slowly rotating on themselves, to draw attention.

Basement floor. Cool space. It’s a quick visit, but so worth it! It’s in Ginza so you can check it out between shopping sightseeing. Hermes 8th floor gallery also cool if you are going to shiseido

    COREDO MUROMACHI
Coredo Muromachi is a 24-story complex building with restaurants on the 1st to 4th basement floors, a multipurpose hall such as a theater on the 5th to 6th floors, and an office building on the 10th to 21th floors.
The opening was a big topic at the time of opening in 2010, but inrecent years, due to the influence of corona, etc., vacant stores have became conspicuous in commercial facilities.

We were knackered and stopped for a drink and watched the world go by in the viewing gallery and then went up to the roof garden. They have an excellent selection of restaurants and shops.

Excellent store to spend at least 2 hours to explore all its offerings. I was there over Thanksgiving and they processed the items Tax free. Not clear what the November 1-Star reviews are all about. That was not my experience. In fact, the person at the register asked me before I asked him. Super helpful and pleasant experience.

Store was very busy on Friday around noon. There was so much cool and thoughtfully crafted items to explore. For someone who doesn’t even write anymore, I bought 3 dozen pens. 😊
