We did a Long Blue Ice Hike on Nigardsbreen Glacier and it was absolutely magnificent. This is a must do, particularly if you've never been on a glacier!

Great walk from the centre of village. Starts off up the hill then becomes a steep single track. Wear walking boots. If the weather is good and the ground is not slippy come back via the red route- following the red paint marks on trees.

What a lovely little find when walking around the village. Made our day, special and friendly! Would recommend finding this by yourself and doing it for the best experience on this lovely little farm. Fantastic views all around too.

Wonderful moderate intensity hike. Ample parking at trailhead. Very well marked trail. Incredible views on the way up and down could do the hike in 1.5-2 hours but why rush?

Picturesque, historic site. Church only open in July to see the interior which has pieces saved from the original stave church. The "new" Gaupne church was dedicated in 1907.

Now the place is closed for inside access but you can still see the impressive building from the outside, luckily i had the chance last year, before closing, seeing the inside.

Just watch the landscape slide by. It is a beautiful, calm minicruise. A way to unwind. To see a mix of locals and some tourist. With no hurry

Skjolden is a very small town where you can do a number of walks. The tourist information center was particularly helpful in providing the necessary information. Most of the hikes are of a high level of difficulty. Good footwear and clothing is a must.

Nice boat ride there and back, quick visit and tour of a very interesting and historic place, 1 mile walk uphill from the ferry, so plan accordingly. Highly recommend.

We left Sogn and drove through Jotunheimen National Park. Beyond every bend is another WOW view. Going in the Autumn made it extra special.

Quite an isolated place is Skjolden, but do beautiful once your here. This information or cultural centre is the only place to stop off. Very friendly staff and some, basic, but interesting exhibits and information on the surrounding area. A nice cafe with a nice outdoor area with some lovely views.

A Glacier climbing tour is something really special, also when you come from a country with lots of mountains and snow. It's different and you should definately NOT miss this occasion. The caves are only open in winter time, when the Glacier is not melting because of the cold period of the year. PS: Though it's never the same, but it gives you y little impression though, visit the Glacier Center (Breheimsenteret), they will offer you really nice trips. PS2: If you have more time, also visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum. Thats one of the best you will find in Europe about this subject!

We rented bikes and road about a half an hour to the parking area. The hike was a bit steep, but only took about 20 minutes, and the views along the way are very nice. When we arrived at the waterfall, there was only one other couple there. It is a lovely place. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the waterfall the the views below. I hope to go back someday.

We stopped off in Solvorn on our way to the stave church in Ornes and whilst exploring the lovely village chanced upon the gallery.

My husband is a photographer and he was also totally blown away by the images. Well worth a visit.
