What travelers are saying
- petkazmSlovakia18 contributionsA must see of Alicante with great views, a bit of history. The castle is big enough that you'll have a relaxing walk and will be able to see everything without pushing through crowds. Went twice, took the steep route both times to rationalize treating us to a good lunch after. Went down the more accessible route, would recommend too. Don't forget there's an elevator, too, should you anticipate troubles walking up.Written July 28, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Talita ZAlmaty, Kazakhstan401 contributionsThis place is very recommended to visit. The view from the top is breathtaking. - Maxine & Paul30 contributionsGood Beach found by the marina of Alicante. Lovely sand - the water (sea) unfortunately had an awful lot of seaweed washed towards the shore but was like swimming in a hot bath.
Plenty of sun beds available but it does get busy so go early. 28e for three beds and a parasol, a bit steep but needed. Shame there is no platform for wheelchair users but easy enough to drag along the sand.
Nice beach.Written July 18, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great service, clean, air conditioned and great value for money with regular trams on 5 lines. Free on Sundays it appears and less than 2 Euros for single zone travel. Get your tickets from easy to use machine at some stations.or on trams themselves. Perfect way to get about and recommend visiting some of the great Playas and Coves North of Alicante.Written August 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jose yanezMexico City, Mexico242 contributionsThere are days when local art crafts expose in tents their works, interesting to see and since it's surrounded by big Palm trees, good fresh walkWritten July 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - jose yanezMexico City, Mexico242 contributionsWay too many stairs but interesting to visit without a doubt and you can reach the Roman auditorium while walking through these streetsWritten July 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - lenthemanPenyffordd, UK535 contributionsWhy oh why don't we have markets like thisin the UK? Borough Market in London is possibly the closest but that is tourist orientated. These markets cater for locals and what a fish market. We just don't get fish here like they sell abroad and how we, as an island nation, have to stick to cod and haddock is beyond me. It almost made me want to cook (but we didn't as the eating out options in Alicante are too tempting)......Written June 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jill PTorrevieja, Spain31 contributionsVisited the MARQ museum in conjunction with Tossal de Manises - €2.50 for a combined ticket. The MARQ museum had a 6m temporary exhibition on Amphitheatres & Gladiators until Oct 2022. Very well set out and took about an hour and a half to walk through. We popped our heads around the doorways of some of the permanent displays, like the shipwreck and the development of Alicante - which looked excellent, but those will have to wait until our next visit. We parked at the Plaza Mar2 shopping mall, and walked over - about a 10min stroll. They don’t allow you to take food or drink in, but there were others that had bottles of water discreetly hidden in a handbag, and they let us tuck a bottle into the pocket of our shorts! I suppose it depends on who’s on the desk on the day!
Tossal de Manises (Roman ruins excavation site) was also a great site nearby (10 minute drive) to spend an hour or so at - but very hot at this time of year. We’ll definitely be going back to both.Written July 13, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SG123Spain129 contributionsWhilst spending the day in Alicante we were looking for something to do to in the cool and came across this little gem. It was free entry so we thought we had nothing to lose. The museum was well laid out, easy to follow and interactive so much show that the 12 year old in our party loved it too. He particularly loved the game.
I knew nothing of the Ocean Race but loved learning about it and it’s curious history.
There was a simulator that looked fun however we were disappointed to find out that it’s only open on specific days so we’d like to go back another time to try that out.
Overall, an enjoyable, informative 90 minutes out of the hot Alicante sun.Written June 22, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We caught the Airport bus there from the city centre but we found it difficult to catch a bus back. That being said, the park was amazing, full of trees and plants, with paths leading all around. At the central entrance there is a nice WC facility block and also s lovely sit home cafe for drinks and snacks. This was the best park in the city and well worth a 2 - 3 hour visitWritten May 3, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Liz PLeeds, UK467 contributionsThe leaflets and info now has an English translation otherwise a visitor might not realise what they were looking at. - lenthemanPenyffordd, UK535 contributionsIt was OK although I was a bit disappointed. Not a huge amount on display and whilst I like (some) contemporay art some of this was to "Tracy Eminish" for my liking. The two best items were by Joan Miro. Malaga has much more to offer really....Written June 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
