Gyula Castle in Hungary is a captivating blend of history and charm. The architecture is stunning, and the grounds offer a peaceful escape. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and those seeking a picturesque setting

It’s located in the centre opposite Almasy Castle, Visitor Center and Castle-Bath. It was built of burnt bricks in 16th century and it was one of the strongest fortress of the country with Eger and Szigetvar. This Gothic Castle is the only brick castle that remained intact in the plains. It can be visited and there’s a castle-theatre in it, too. It’s popular and worth a visit. We went there on a Saturday morning and there was a big craft fair in front of it.

Nice place, I wish the off season options were open when I was there, because the weather was good enough. Also ... those having warm water would be even better :)

    Very nice food too.

Lots of people from the other side of the border, probably because this place is better then any option from Felix / 1 May. Obviously pricier too.

We went there on a Sunday, and it was not too crowded, we were able to use the slides too, although some people do like to take an inflatable tube to themselves, instead of sharing. I wish this part was controlled better. My kids were not able to get those easily so I had to step in and help them.

This bridge is unusual and really quite sweet. We visited on a cold December evening and most stores were closed - but it’s easy to see how this location would be wonderful in warmer months. The entire central part of Gyula is really beautiful and enjoyable.

Since before the "turkish time" was a temple here. After the destruction, the Harruckern nobile family rebiuld it, wth nice seccos, presenting the town's history. If you come here in the first sunday of october, or in 19. of march, or in 15. of august you can see and particip on a nice and very spiritual mess, with a lot of people from whole Hungary.

This is a small teacher's house with adjoining school room where the composer of Hungary's national anthem and other patriotic works was born and raised. It is very well restored and has a great small exhibit. It is very visitor friendly and aimed mainly and school children.

This is very rare that you have a "museum", which is a house where people left their daily things. What you find here a 18-19th century middle class family home, with all their belongings. We were very lucky beeing the only visitors, and we got a "lecture" about the whole family and the story how they gave over everything to the city of Gyula.

It is not far from the castle and you can actually see it from the top. I couldn't phatom from above what they were. So went to see. It is about executed Hungarian generals from the mid 19'ths century.

This small church built in mid 18 century, rebuilt in the first part of the 19th century. There is a beautiful statue of Virgin Mary from the 18th century inside of the church. It takes about 20 minutes to visit the church. It worths the time.

It is a quite large park in the vicinity of the Gyula Castle and the Thermal Bath. It is probably a prefect place for a family walk in any season but in Autumn the many colors of the falling leaves offer that little extra that makes the place magical.
