#1 of 2 Nature & Parks in Birdsville
Went with Desert Edge and were shown around the township, including the Race Course, and then had drinks and nibbles on top of the dunes as the sun set.
On the edge of the Simpson desert and close to the iconic town of Birdsville this collection of red sand dunes are a magnet for 4wd enthusiasts.

Eyre Creek is normally dry but it was a good base to go and visit Poeppel Corner (latitude 26° S and longitude 138° E) it is the corner state boundaries of Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory.
We crossed the Simpson Desert from Mt Dare in the west to Birdsville in the east via the Frenchman’s Track, WAA Line, The Rig Road, Knolls Track and the QAA line.
