- John AHong Kong, China504 contributionsThe rain was bucketing down when my wife and I took the exit to the Chirihama Beach Drive. With the rain coming in sheets and the surf heavy, driving on the beach was a completely magical experience. I had expected that the beach drive would be prohibited during heavy weather, but it was not — we enjoyed solitude on the beach as we passed the thundering waves and listened to the rain on the roof of our car. I let the tires wade in the seawater on the strand. Just so beautiful and something a visitor to should never miss!Written December 4, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Scott WSydney, Australia307 contributionsThis place was very calm and tranquil. A small admission fee, but an excellently maintained temple, a pleasant and quiet walk through took about an hour.Written April 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Orla S7 contributionsThis is a really fun thing to do if you are in the Hakui area. It is not expensive with an 800JPY entrance fee. No guided tour but a walk through to see actual historical Soviet aerospace items along with replica NASA equipment.
The story is of a past time in aerospace history, now out of date but still interesting.
At the end, the tour focuses on UFO and alien stories ... a little fun twist. This will not take more than an hour start to finish.
Enjoy the novelty items in the gift store!!Written November 24, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Keta Shrine was like it was made with the forest in mind. Some parts were downright Ghibli-ish, especially the torii that led straight into the woods.Written March 15, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Yasuhiro.KuwajimaSaitama, Japan57 contributionsI participated in a motorbike rally called SSTR, which is popular in Japan, and visited as the goal.
It is the only sightseeing road in Japan where you can drive your car or motorcycle along the sandy beach.
It was a wonderful experience riding a motorbike along the coastline where anglers, parents and children playing on the beach, and seabirds resting while feeling the calmness.
The roads are well packed and no stuck tires. but it is not possible to drive at high speed because there are occasional bumps.
The road is about 6km long, but there were several seafood BBQ restaurants (called Umi no Ie in Japan) along the way.Written May 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
