It is free to enter, with excellent information boards provided by English Heritage, which really brought the place to life.
The sun was shining and it was an opportunity for some photography and for our nine year old to run around in wonderment.

Some great photo opportunities - some very interesting history via the audio guide that is presented in a lively and articulate way - and an easy way of passing an hour or so in a fascinating environment.
We were offered a guide or the audio system(the audio is included in the entrance fee, well worth having) the ruins are beautiful to look at and wander around, and the grounds are lovely.

Langley Chapel

Acton Burnell 5.8 mi away
#2 of 3 Sights & Landmarks in Acton Burnell
This is such a gorgeous little chapel and it really is truly a hidden gem well worth a visit to see what churches would have looked like in the 16th century before being over restored and renovated by the Victorians.
Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
