To understand what life was like for the inhabitants of the Sassi, I strongly recommend that you visit Casa Grotta to see a typical cave home and to hear about how people lived within the Sassi.
We enjoyed our visit and had to wait until the German and Japanese audio had been on before we could listen in English.It brought the cave to life and was well worth the entrance fee

We wandered into this store/museum and were enchanted by the scale reproduction of the Sassi area, complete with the cathedral at the summit.
The miniature Sassi is amazing and it must have taken ages to create.
